6 X 8 FADING PURPLE ALASKAN SEINE FISHING FISH NET (#N53)
This is a 6 feet x 8 feet piece of light guage fishing net we beachcombed on the Washington coast! The diamond pattern measures about 2 inch squares and the fading purple colored cord the netting is made with is about 1/16" wide. It is in good used condition and is not like the new stuff everyone is selling. There are some small holes but adds to the authenticity of the netting. Remember that this stuff probably caught Salmon or some other fish at one time. Lucky for us it broke loose from its floats and wash up on the beach! There is a musty smell or ocean smell from the netting being in the salt water but can be easily washed in a sink of soap or detergent. Gets rid of the smell all together! You are purchasing a 12 foot piece of braided 9/16 inch diameter green braided rope with 32 brown styrofoam floats. We bought these from a fisherman that fishes these type nets and then we bought them from him after he could no longer use the corkline for fishing. They usually change these out every 3 or 4 years and we get lucky enough to get them before they go to the landfill. This corkline is used with Alaskan seine and gill nets for fishing salmon. 5 X 16 AUTHENTIC TAN ALASKAN SEINE FISHING FISH NET BUOY (#N46)
This is a 5 feet x 16 feet piece of fishing net we beachcombed on the Washington coast this last winter. The diamond pattern measures about 2" squares and the tan cord the netting is made with is about 1/16" wide. Netting is a little lighter than pic shows. It is in used condition and is not like the new stuff everyone is selling. The color has minor fading but adds to the authenticity of the netting. Remember that this stuff probably caught Salmon or some other fish at one time. There is a musty smell or ocean smell from the netting being in the salt water but can be easily washed in a sink of soap or Simple Green works great. Gets rid of the smell all together! OLD CEDAR SEINE FISHING FISH NET FLOATS CRAB BUOY NATIVE CARVING
This is an old cedar fishing net float. We found it hanging on an old fishing gear shed. This one has been carved into a face. We have found a couple like this over the years. Most were found in Native American fishing net sheds. Its not the nicest one we have ever found but these are very rare folk art pieces. It measures about 3" wide and 5" long. This float is round in the middle and tapers on the ends. These were made by turning them on a wood lathe. It has a hole at each end for stringing it up or tying it to a net. The brothers began the fishery in the early 1900's, and both brothers are long deceased. Fishery has been closed for decades. These are the original old wooden floats that they used on their early commercial fishing nets. The floats are all wood and each is really one-of-a-kind due to finish, wear, and age(craftsmanship as well) These old wood floats are long cylinders in shape and would be marvelous for crafts or to re-purpose into lighting accessories, decorative accents, etc. Some artisans like to paint them for lovely folk art Holiday Ornaments. The top rope is broken in one spot, the entire length is roughly 25' There are 21 floats. Some floats are loose and are sliding on the rope. There are 3 metal tags attached to one float with the Illinois license from 1947, 1948, and 1949 for seine fishing. Qty (3) - Brass fishing rings from ALASKAN seine net
This auction is for 3 brass rings used on a seine net in Prince Williams Sound during the 70s and 80s. The 3 in the auction are the ones in the picture with 3 rings. The 5 ring picture is just a better example to show the coloring and what they look like in the bright daylight. I took that picture during the summer on some other rings that I sold. Didn't realize the picture for these 3 rings was so dark so that is why I included the other picture. One of the 3 rings, as you can see by the picture isn't entirely circular. The rings are about 6" in diameter. They were used on the seine net to help hold down the lead line and also where the purse line was strung through. Let me know if you have any questions.

This is a 12' x 20' piece of light guage fishing net we beachcombed on the Washington coast(4-23-11) The diamond pattern measures about 2.5" squares and the purple fading to gray cord the netting is made with is about 1/16" wide. It is in bad used condition and is not like the new stuff everyone is selling. There are lots of holes. Patches,tears, and this net is just ugly all together in condition but adds to the authenticity of the netting. Remember that this stuff probably caught Salmon or some other fish at one time. Lucky for us it broke loose from its floats and wash up on the beach! There is a musty smell or ocean smell from the netting being in the salt water but can be easily washed in a sink of soap or detergent. Gets rid of the smell all together! This auction is for 10 cork fishing net floats we got out of an old fishing net shed. Each float measures 4 inch- 4+1/2 inches wide and 2 inches- 2+1/2 inches thick. Each has a hole through the float for stringing it up or tying it to a net. Each float could have a little wax left on it. They did this to water proof them better. We have washed these in a bleach& water solution. Then rinsed them with fresh water and then dried them.
