Not sure what to call the fabric, it is not a heavy fabric but not really light weight either, will stretch a little. I know it is not cotton, may be some type of polyester, just not for sure. This is is a huge wonderful Vintage Christmas Tablecloth. It measures about 124" x 68" There are also two napkins which measure about 16" x 16" You could use the napkins as"Dollies" on another table to tie a theme together. The tablecloth is Red. Metalic thread makes up Santa. His Sleigh, Reindeer, harness and trees. Enlarge the pictures to see the great details. Santa's suit is green and the trees are gold/silver/white. I have for auction this amazing quality. Very beautiful Jacquard woven tapestry hanging, it was found in a house clearance here in the South of France, this is not one of the many tapestry hangings you see so many of for sale these days, this would have been a very expensive hanging when first purchased, it is most unusual, in the fact that it is not a scene as such, this has an interesting repeated design in the Mediaeval style of a man with a lute also a hunter with his falcon and a deer at his side, these figures being framed with an array of flowers and foliage, it is colourful but the colours are subtle and easy on the eye with no fading, extremely pretty! the beautiful border on this tapestry hanging is also most unusual with matalic threads woven into the foliage design which is in lovely dusky pink and bluey/green colours, the metal ... morethread sparkles in the light. I have never seen a tapestry hanging quite like this before, it is truely stunning. The hanging is fully lined, for just display I have pinned the hanging onto a wooden batten for the photography. The hanging measures approx deep 1m77 or 69.75" and wide 1m44 or 56.75" I cannot tell you exactly how old it is, it is certainly far from new, I would think possibly 1950s, it is in very good vintage condition with no fading or damage, it has obviously been treasured. cross stitch tablecloth fabric 52x72 stamped light gold with metalic thread
This is an estate sale find of tablecloth fabric stamped for cross stitch. It is 52" x 72" and has an overall stitched gold stripe of metallic thread at various intervals. The fabric is a light gold color. Is not hemmed and has a stamped pattern of butterflies and flowers. The fabric content is probably linen but it's not labeled so I can't be sure. I don't have a big enough table to properly photograph this item(and I'm a rather poor photographer) so the picture shows only one corner of the tablecloth. Antique Tapestry, Islamic, Asian. Cape, Wedding Robe, Silk Silver Metalic Thread
I have never seen anything like this cape before. I couldn't find another on Ebay or on the web. The closest item I could find would be an Afghanistan Wedding Robe. I am sure it is very old. Hand-woven and it required a highly skilled artist to produce it. It measures approx. 48" long and 48" along bottom hem. It is so old the silk is very fragile and tears easily. If the neck was removed it would hang near square on the wall. The lining is silk and the frount looks like raw silk or something close. It has red and blue thread with massive silver and gold/copper threading. The metal used as thread does not react to a magnet. Hello! This auction is for a gorgeous vintage late 1960s Ernest Newman designer gown. Bright canary yellow adorned with gold and silver metallic threaded designs and teardrop beads on the bodice. Beautiful long dress in wonderful condition with only a few small issues. Inner lining around the underarms is worn/slightly deteriorated(does not show from the outside)And a several of the front bodice beads are missing(though, with how much shine/design there is on the dress as a whole, it's not very noticeable. Those that are can be filled in with other beads) This dress is perfect for your next Mad Men party!
