Rare Vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Model 6000 Reel with original Leather Case. Accessories and Tag. The reel is in very nice condition with only a few minor marks keeping it from being mint(note scratches and pitting on spool tension cap) Operates like new- very smooth. Rare leather case has some separation of the leather at the front corners(see photo) but is otherwise also in very good condition. Accessories include oil dropper. Screwdriver/wrench combo tool and spare parts tube with assorted replacement screws, e-clips, handle nut, etc. Double-sided gold foil tag is missing original string which was ripped off. From the research I've done it's attributes date it to 1959/1959. I've had the reel in my collection for 25 years and I believe it to be all original and never used. Vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Model 6000 Bait Casting Reel Color is Deep Red with a White Crank Knob Has some signs of use but overall in very good condition with smooth movement The"white" handle is almost a pearl with yellow veins running thru it. Not a bright white but translucent. I think it is of Bakelite or Celluloid. No cracks or chips. The body has very minimal signs of use- the red paint is 99% intact- the steel has very little sign of use but I am sure that it was used at least a couple times since there is line on it- the rod holder part has no numbers on it. It has the Royal Coat of Arms on the side with writing in Swedish that I think says Made in Sweden Comes with the manual for both 5000& 6000 Models- Also comes with the original Guarantee and Registration Card- Both have been stored for many years and have some ... moreyellowing. The manual even though somewhat tattered. Is all there and shows the parts listing. Also included is the oil or lubricant container marked 6000 on a red cap and a small container of replacement parts. There is a small screwdriver/wrench included. The outside of the leather case is in very good condition without any scuffing or scratches to the exterior. The inside liner has come detached in some areas and in the front inside cover. There is a piece that has worn away. I did have a friend who rebuilds reels look at it and he said not to touch anything. Maybe clean it up a bit but it is in excellent working condition. The famous Ambassadeur series of bait casting reels. Which utilized advanced metal alloys, ball-bearing friction interfaces, and precisely-cut gears, was introduced at the New York World's Fair in 1964. Reel functions extremely silent and smooth. Saw very little use. Stowed away drag washers backed off. Mechanically perfect. Apparently the parts bottle and oil bottle are stuck in place. Looks like all parts are there. Oil bottle empty with wrench behind it. Thank you.

There is no number stamped on bottom of foot which research tells me it is pre- 1959' perhaps even pre 1957' You decide.
