Record Ambassadeur 5000 fishing reel Pre-serial number no Abu Garcia Mid 50's
This reel looks to have never been used. I got it from my grandpa who was a collector of angler gear. Comes with the original leather case(that still wants to close as it has been closed for many years and looks great) and 2 bottles of stuff. Reel is in amazing shape. Just normal wear marks from being transported during moves and storage. The only thing I can tell to be wrong is one handle is slightly bent and I did not want to try and fix it and mess it up. No paperwork that I can find. Not sure if the bottles have ever been used or not. This is a rare find and the piece to have for any collector. If you have any questions please email me. Vintage 40g ABU HiLo Fishing Lure Bait- TOUGH COLOR - record garcia musky fans
The HiLo was introduced in the late 1950s by AB Urfabriken(ABU) It was very similar to Heddon's vamp spook and River Runt(depending on the size) Except that it featured a patented adjustable lip. For a very short period, it was even marketed as the"Heddon ABU HiLo River Runt. The bait is still in production today and is still popular worldwide. In the classic era, it was offered in five sizes: 12g, 18g, 20g jointed, 26g, and 40g. This is the largest size(40g) 1960s vintage. The color is"BO" which stands for brunoring, or"brown trout" By the way. I can personally attest that these things work for musky.
