Here is vintage 8 1/2' bamboo fly rod custom made for Whitney Sporting Goods in Denver. Colorado. It's labeled"Whitney's Creel Crowder. I'm not sure of the manufacturer or the date of manufacture. Somewhere between the 20s and 40s. It has what appears to be a bakelite reel seat. The ferrules, wraps and bamboo appear to be in good shape. There are a couple of very small scrapes on the varnish, but it doesn't affect the bamboo. The tip section has a slight bend. The other two sections are straight. The tip measures approx. 2 1/2' while the other sections are approx. 3' The cloth case is included. Up for sale is an"as new" Crowder EDD50 deep drop rod with swivel tip. This rod was used only once during a recent fishing trip and tournament where I was lucky enough to win another deep drop rod. I only need one and have chosen to keep the rod I recently won as it matches the rest of my other outfit set-ups better. This combo is in great working condition. TLD has normal signs of use. Scratches and paint chips. Reel functions perfectly. Drag, free spool, handle, and clicker all work as they should. Rod is in very good condition. There are a few holes in the foam handle from hooks. The handle butt comes off if you pull on it, it never bothered me, but you could glue it on if you wanted. I had the reel serviced at local tackle shop last summer and haven't used it since. Rod and reel will be shipped separately.
