Let me tell you, if you drop a grey bag in the water(friend had his fall off the raft once) or leave it on shore(done this more times than I would like to admit with nets) a grey bag pretty much disappears and makes it harder to retrieve it.or notice it. Hence, I always bought the Orange and Green versions. Plus, we had a grey bag once and it got substantially hotter than the green or orange bad since it absorbed so much heat from the sun. Lighter colors are definitely better in my opinion. Condition: I have a few of these in different sizes and love them. Great for fly fishing from a boat or raft. Especially when steelhead fishing, which often entails bad weather. This particular bag has been used on one trip, maybe two, but I only remember using it once. It's in new condition. I doubt anyone would know the difference. No wear marks, scratches, rips or anything. I took lots of photos, with flash and without flash so you can see every detail. Zippers work great, totally waterproof. I like to put a little chapstick on my zippers to lubricate them. Waterproof zippers are tight in general, but this makes it easier to zip. 2 years old Simms g4 pro waders large long. 12-13 bootie size. One picture shows burn in fold out pouch. It happened from a hot rock flying out of the campfire. One picture shows tiny tear on right knee. It does not leak on the inside. These waders have been sent to Simms for repair and aqua sealed about 20 times inside the waders. I haven't done any brush whacking in these waders, and don't know why they sprung tiny leaks. Simms says it is inherit in the goretex fabric after time. I am tired of babying these waders, just to have them spring tiny leaks occasionally. When I say tiny leaks, I mean after fishing all day waist deep I would remove the waders and have nickel sized wet spots on my capilene leggings. A ton of life left in these waders. Up for auction with no reserve is a pair of G3 Guide Special Edition Waders. Size Medium Short, with 9-11 Foot. The waders are previously owned and were my backup waders for 2 seasons and really weren't used much as you can tell from pictures. The waders show normal signs of wear as you would expect but have many days on the water left if you know anything about Simms waders. Made with Gore-tex Pro shell technology, these waders are a souped-up version of the popular G3's. The main features that make them different are the improved suspenders with ventilated padding for all-day comfort and D-loop on back for a landing net, only offered now on the pricey G4's. The wading belt is also a lot nicer than what comes standard on the G3's. The Simms camo on the handwarmer pocket and flip-out pouch is also a nice touch. I did replace ... morethe thin, flimsy cord that was attached to the zipper on the handwarmer pocket with a burly para cord as seen in the picture. Simms Guide Stocking foot Waders LS
Up for auction is my used Simms Guide stocking foot waders. The size is large short. The first time I put these waders on to do some Salmon fishing. I sat down on a folding lawn chair on the porch at a lodge overlooking the MSW Miramichi River. As I sat down I heard a scraping noise. When I checked, a sharp burr on the chair's aluminum frame sliced a 1" cut in the backside, just below the belt line(see pictures) The waders were subsequently repaired, you can hardly notice the cut and I have used them since then with absolutely no problem. Up for auction is a pair of Simms men's stockingfoot waders size medium king. These are reinforced with GoreTex from the the upper legs down to bottom of legs in order to protect the wearer from hazards encountered when fly fishing. These have signs of wear in that there are minor stains throughout the fabric. There are no cuts. Scrapes or punctures on any of the fabric. The stitching is sound, and the suspenders are not frayed and everything looks to be in good used condition. These retail for over $300, so this is a bargain.
