SIMMS fly fishing G3 GoreTex guide Large/reg waders w/ SIMMS sz12 wading boots
This is a great used fly fishing set-up. Included in the sale is a pair of SIMMS G3 guide waders in size large/regular 11-12 bootie and a pair of SIMMS lace up wading boots in size 12. Both function just fine. There is a VERY VERY slow leak in the right bootie that will result in a damp( not soaking wet) sock after about 4 hrs of river time. SIMMS has a lifetime warranty on these waders but have not been sent in for repair. Buyer could send them in over the offseason for factory repair at low cost. Only reason I'm selling is I went up 1 size to Large/Long 12-13 bootie and size 13 boots for warmer winter fishing. I'll start them low and let them go from there! Patagonia Wading Boots- Size 13(but run small- see below) These boots are identical to the one's I recently listed. With one exception: They don't have cleats and are felt only(no provisions for cleats/studs) And so. Often, when buying wading boots you want to size up one to accomodate neoprene booties. While these boots are a size 13, I would recommend them for a guy with a street shoe size of 11 or 11.5, but not someone who just sneaks into a size 12 street shoe; otherwise, these boots are terrific. These boots are true to width and fit my more-than-average wide-fitting feet fine; however, I am a not a super-wide. just a hair wider than average, perhaps, in the fore-foot, below the toes. Another piece of helpful/important advice. My feet are precisely 11" from heel to top of big toe measuring from the bottom of the foot. And ... morethese are a tad snug in the toe for me. My neoprene booties are just under 12" from heel to toe measuring on the bottoms. If your bare feet are 10.75" or less and your wader's neoprene booties are comfortably snug without excess bootie, you should find these boots comfortable. Please measure your feet before bidding. And. Feel free to ask questions- someone is going to get a real nice, stable, supportive and LIGHT pair of wading boots, here- they also drain nicely. This listing is for a pair of Orvis flyfishing wading boots. They are womens and size 7. They were worn one afternoon only- in a creekbed. Except for some creekbed residue on the felt underside. They are in like new condition. I have not tried to clean the felt- because I don't want to damage it. There are two portholes on the lower inside of each boot(see first photo) These allow water to flow out of the boot. These are high top boots- in that they are high over the ankle and provide lots of ankle support when standing in flowing water on slippery surfaces. If you are walking up and down slippery stream banks and wading in a stream with slippery rocks, you need 10 studs per boot to get that done with relative ease and safety. I am mostly wading with Simms felt sole boots. So you get a bargain. Tight Lines! Response to question I wear size 9 EE street ... moreshoe and I use a Simms wader with Neoprene stocking feet. Since the Neoprene feet are big on me. I need a wading boot size that will accomodate my foot, socks, and some.extra Neoprene. I cannot use the rule of thumb that the wading boot size should be one size larger than my street shoe. I tried on the size 10, and it was definitely too tight. I tried the 11, and it worked well for me if I wore heavy weight wool socks under the Neoprene feet. So I wear Bass Pro Heavyweight wool socks which are really thick. When I tried the Midweight LL Bean Cresta Hiking socks, my feet moved side to side in the boot. Simms improved the boots in 2014, and they also made them wider than the 2013 models so more people can use the one size larger rule to get the right size boot for their feet, socks, amount of Neoprene. For me, I still had to get TWO sizes larger and use thick socks to fill them out. Hope all this helps
