I was told the reel was used once or twice steelhead fishing in Oregon. The reel is designed to fish a 7 weight line and used on a 7-8 weight fly rod. The reel was found in an unmarked seude leather reel case as seen in the pictures-the extra spool was found inside the previous owners fly vest and has no leather case. The reel has a sinking line marked on the spool Ultra F/S 8 weight STEELHEAD and a floating line on the extra spool that has no ID label. It has a large, main double-compartment, with separate zippered access and separated by a water-proof barrier. There is a somewhat long and narrow zippered pocket on top, the purpose of which I am not entirely sure. The bottom of the duffel also appears to be water-proof, being constructed of what feels like a thick vinyl material. The bag measures approximately 22 inches wide by about 14 inches tall. It can be carried either by the hand-grips or by shoulder strap. I can find no holes in the cloth or vinyl material. The final picture shows an area where about one-half-inch of the outer cloth layer has lost a few threads along the seam. Sage 7141-4, 14'1" 7wt. spey fly rod
Ive had this stick for a handful of years and. Sadly, it has just collected dust for a while. This rod was advertised as a more scandinavian type of action. Personally, i found it to be similar in action to the classic brown blank 9140 but it is much faster to recover and stores alot more power. It absolutely launches skagits in the 550-575 grains. I never cast any scandi lines on it, but it should do wonders with a 525ish scandi. Unfortunately it is just to long for the tighter rivers i tend to fish more. It is slightly used. I only fished it a dozen days or so, as should be evident from the pictures. It has a few scratches from normal fishing wear. It will ccome with the factory tube and sock and has had zero repairs.
