The Oriental Wiggler was introduced in 1917 and patented on April 30. 1918. The lure is made of celluloid(Pyralin) and has glass eyes(one is missing) As a collector you probably know the many reasons why this lure is a must for any serious antique lure collection: Among the lures firsts are: First lure with celluloid(Pyralin) body. First lure with stud to affix flexible tail(pork rind or other) to. First lure to really make a pork rind strip wiggle via its colorado style spinner. Please review all the photos prior to bidding. The condition of the lure and the box are not good but are representative of a lure of this vintage that has been used for fishing. The lure being offered has a detachable hook rigidly attached to the body by a screw-on stud that is also used to button a pork rind strip or similar streamer to the lure. The stud also affixes the wire weed guards. I believe the rubber skirt is an a personal add-on as I could not find an example in the literature. The tin box is also in good condition with no dents and great graphics. But does have some surface oxidation. The catalog is intact and in fair condition. The second, larger lure is an all red#3.
