Rare Original Heddon Tad Polly Box with Black w/ Green Lettering
This is a Rare Heddon Tad Polly Box that was introduced in 1918. It is in its own beautiful black box with Green lettering and pircture the lure on the cover. This box is for a 5000 marked on one end a size 95 as well as the letters CR or CK. Box is in good condition. The top has a curved arch to it and the lid is also missing on the right lower corner material as seen in pictures. Box seems to be solid in all corners with some dark wear inside of the lid. All around a very good box and hard to find. I have had this box for about 20 years Please see pics. Vintage& still lookin' good. Oldie set of three(3) different HEDDON"TAD POLLY" FRESH-WATER LURES: Two in factory boxes& obviously never used: a"9000 RFB' of bright orange overall w/ black spots, and a"9000 YB" of bright yellow overall w/ black stripe down back. The other TAD POLLY Lure is a"9000 NPB" of silver overall with blue stripe down back& blue"scale" pattern sides, though showing paint scrapes on back end from honest use long ago. All three still in excellent fishable condition of course, with the two pristine& boxed TAD POLLY LURES long since set aside& looking collectible just"as is"See Photos) All of these are marked"1/2 Oz. Class" and paint scheme are 100% factory original colors, with factory boxes in fairly good condition considering ... moreage. probably produced back in the mid to late 1960s era, these odd looking TAD POLLY LURES were divers we'd suspect, of the type that floated back up wiggling when you stopped reeling, thereby attracting the attention of territorial or predatory game fish(Bass& Pike) in fresh water we'd guess. All three LURES feature chromed hardware attachments& line ties, plus twin treble hooks.See Photos) Condition is about 99.99% overall for both of the un-used TAD POLLYs, with the pair having NO dings, dents, scratches, scrapes, corrosion, or"problems" that we can see, and our guess after a close inspection is that these two HEDDON TAD POLLY LURES were never fished, though boxes are scraped& scuffed from storage& handling, but still in fairly good condition as shown. Please review the photos carefully and you be the judge as to actual condition of these three(3) vintage HEDDON LURES at this point in time. MARKINGS: The lure is marked on the dive lip: Heddon Dowagiac. No other markings were found. Exact age unknown however this is 1919- 1934 era based on the L-RIG hook hardware. LURE CONDITION: Measures ... moreaprox. 3-7/8" This is Series 5000 introduced in 1919. Both glass eyes have a hook nick/chip and a couple of hairlines! The"Tad Polly" wood lure has what we call"General Use and Aging" scattered throughout. You can see the Fisherman use and aging of the older wood lure in the photos. Our use of the word"multiple" means the lure has a combination of in excess of(8-10) blemishes. General use blemishes include the following: Small hook nicks. Hook swings, scratches, hairline scratches, paint wear areas, paint loss or paint flakes, and impressions scattered throughout as seen below. Remember, the lure has a combination of all these things.
