Here are 3 vintage fly tying vises. They have a little rust on the unpainted parts. But should cleanup with some scotchbrite. Been going thru my dads stuff and we don't fish. There is a Universal 2, It tightens up and when you pull the side know you can rotate the vise. It is missing the pad on the table clamp. There is a D.H. Thompson with a spare vise section. The spare one has a shorter chrome body, but a larger clamp at the end. Last is a Herters#3, it also is missing the table clamp pad. Please ask any questions.

Works great. I just needed rotary for tying bucktails. It will not come in orignal box. The description is below. Smooth operation, and overall dependability. The reel features a counterweighted spool, corrosion resistant components, spool with bronze bushing, right-hand or left-hand retrieve, and exposed spool rim for easy palming and precise control of running fish. Specifications: weight 4.2 ounces. Diameter 2 7/8" Line weights and capacities: WF3 100yds. WF4 75yds and WF5 50yds. HMH tube fly adapter - with 3 mandrels - Used
Hi. This auction is for an HMH tube fly adapter. This handy device fits into the jaws of your vice(doesn't have to be HMH) and allows you to tie all sorts of tube flies. The adapter will fit into any vice jaws that'll take a 2/0 hook. The converter has been used and is in very good condition. It includes 2 machined steel mandrels. 1 extra mandrel, and a modified blind eye hook, which cover pretty much all eventualities. This converter is the same as the one used by Davie McPhail in his superb series of Youtube videos(I recommend that all fly-tyers should make a point of watching at least some of these excellent videos) Please note that I also have auctions running for an HMH Standard vice. Two pair are all made by LaCross.And the third is made by DKNY, they are all stainless steel, one pair is3.5inches, one is 3.5 inches and has a large blade, one is 3.5 inches with a medium blade, and the last is 3.5 inches with a very fine blade. I have lightly oiled these, all are in excellent condition, and very sharp.

3 Vintage Fly Tying Vises Herters #11, Universal 1 Rotary, Universal 2 Rotary,
I dug out some more stuff. These are three very early vises. The first photo shows all three. In that photo the one on the far left is a Herters#11 basic vise. The vise in the center is a Universal#1. And I believe it is the first rotary vise made. The vise on the far right is the Universal#1 and so marked. It was an updated version of the#1. The Universal 1 jaws are activated my a lever as shown in one of the photos; a third photo of the jaws shows the release pin to release the jaws. The jaw position can be moved up and down and they are turned by the wheel on the end. The universal 2 jaws are tightend by the wheel on the end and the same wheel also rotates the jaws. The rotation can be stopped by the letting the pin on the side of the body engage a hole in the rotating mechanism. I also have an assortment of vintage tying materials as ... moreshown in the photos. All of these vises and materials are usable. However being vintage item they are great for display especially for someone giving tying demonstrations at the local club.
