The Thompson company has marketed an imported Model A vise that looks similar, but that many reviewers think is inferior in durability and hook-holding ability. This is the"Made in America" Model A. With a vintage most likely in the early 1960's. You can tell this because of stamp of the company name on the cam lever and the absence of a zip code in the address on the box. It comes with a set of basic. High-quality tools with brass fittings: a bobbin. Good scissors,hackle pliers and a combination bodkin and half-hitch tool. up for bid-One Vtg. Herter's Fly Tyer's Cabinet loaded w/accessory's + vises- This cabinet is 10" x 10" x 8"h. Dark grey with 4 blue drawers and in good condition for it's age 60's/70's.The top drawer(1st drawer picture) contains lots of hooks, swivels- both old style barrel and clip type, bunch of small corks, the five little small red cap tubes- 4 have tiny flies(don't know if these were bought or hand tied and the other tube has a ice fishing tiny jig. Also 4 old match books- two have a some made up mono split shot rigs. 2nd drawer(2nd drawer pic) has 4 tubes of glitter and a small sq. container very fine like glitter dust- middle back compartment has a Herter's hackle pliers, thompson hackle pliers, T-L-Tyers vise pat.pend. and tube of outer Reelslick- back left compartment has whole bunch ... moreof sm. lead jigs, some spinner blades, small amount of beads and some flo& red tubing. 3 front compartment have floating beads, unknown colored round material type balls with small hook in each and a couple have leaders. 3rd drawer(3rd drawer pic) has fly tying materials- 9 new on card chenille's various colors and 3 are sparkle- 2 cards of Herter's lifex translucent body material- some coils of a gold type body material- 13 spools of tying thread and a bunch of loose chenille material. 4 bottom drawer(4th drawer pic) right side has 14 Herter's on card body materials various colors, also 4sm. cards of Universal wool body material, 2 Cortland body matl. 1 card of Meno's matl, and a card of Tack-L-Tyers- left side has 16 packages of various feathers a few still have labels. The feathers are also shown in a separate picture from the 4th drawer and the Herter's and other body materials are also shown is a separate pic. The last picture is of the Herter's vise no.9, which could use a new cam locking handle, but is function. Hello and found in estate is this stash of fly tying materials. Included in the auction is a Thompson model A fly tying vice with original box. Also included is a cast iron Thompson fly rod wrapper and assorted thread. There is a variety of hooks. I see size 4. 10, 12 etc. There is a couple of rolls of lead wire and a box of different size white and red beads. Everything in the 11 pictures is included.
