There is a green fly line on the reel as you see in pictures. This reel is marked as you see in picture 3. K-Mart 55. on the bottom of the reel foot it shows. Japan. As you see in picture 1 it has a large wind up knob that is basically the whole side, that is the knob you turn to wind the reel spring. When you push down on the lever that sticks out from the reel the reel spool turns to wind up the line and seems to work good/smooth. As you look at the pictures you can see it does have some light scuf/scratches but reel nice condition. Vintage Ted Williams Automatic 470 Fly Fishing Reel Sears 3115 fish collectible
Well here's a really cool thing I found down in my basement that the previous owner of my house must have left behind: a Ted Williams automatic fly fishing reel made by Sears Roebuck. With the original hangtag, vinyl case and cardboard box, plus some pamphlets that were in the box. The reel itself looks hardly used, and as if it could be cleaned up to look practically new, but I didn't try to clean it. It has a heavy duty green cord wrapped inside. The box is in very rough shape, and doesn't hold together on the sides, but the writing is still clear on the front of it: Ted Williams Vertical Automatic Fly Reel no. 3115 Sears Roebuck and Company, Made in USA, and there's the original $13.50 price sticker. The vinyl case has writing on it in pen: Christopher Albert Peck, from Gramp, with glass fly rod. Kinda sweet! I wish I had ... morea Gramp to give me a fishing pole and fly reel back in the day. There's a Ted Williams stamp and gold triple crest logo on the case. The zipper's very sticky so I didn't mess with it for fear of breaking it, but maybe with some lubricant it would work better. Check the pictures! A sweet fishing sports collectible from simpler days gone by. Copper Creel Fly Fishing Basket Large Vintage Decorative Fish Fishermans Unusual
Vintage. Large, Decorative, Copper Creel Fly Fishing Fish Basket I found this unusual. Large copper basket at an estate sale. I’ve spent quite a bit of time on the internet and have been unable to find anything even remotely like it. According to the previous owner, the basket is at least 60 years old. The basket has been crafted to look like a real fisherman’s Creel style fishing basket(except that there is not a hole in the top) The lid is hinged and has a leather tab on the front edge that closes over a copper screw. The basket has an adjustable leather strap and 2 copper hooks on the back which I assume are meant for displaying the piece on a wall or door(or on a fence outdoors? The basket is made completely out of copper(except for the leather strap; the top. Molded panel with the fish on it; and the acorns on the front) The copper strips ... morehave been woven just like the pieces of a real basket. The copper leaves are affixed to the basket with copper? wire. The top piece under the fish and the bottom panel of the basket are made of sheets of copper. Not sure what the Acorns& Fish Panel on the top of the basket are made out of- it’s not plastic and it’s not pottery. The top panel looks like it might be breakable. But I am not sure. The panel has been hand painted, and the fish is molded so that it has a“3-D” effect. The acorns are affixed to the basket with wires. The top fish panel appears to be glued on to the copper piece that is the hinged lid. The basket measures 12” x 9 ½” x 6 ¾” the leather strap is approximately 32” long and is ¾” wide. And has a wavy pattern on it. The basket weighs 4 pounds, 3 ounces. Basket would work well as a decorative item and or for storing fishing related items.
