HMH Standard Fly Tying Vise and Tools
I bought this thinking I wanted to start tying again. Tied about a dozen flies and remembered why I don't like tying. This is an HMH Standard vise with the c-clamp. I did use it bit. But would say it's in like new condition. Other tools include a pair of Dr. Slick all purpose scissors. A Matarelli whip finisher, and a Dr. Slick bodkin. Any questions pleas ask. Dyna King Professional Vise with LOTS of extras!! Not Renzetti, HMH, Orvis
Unique. Used Dyna King Professional Vise with these extras. The vise comes mounted on an AK Best base. You can't find the AK vises or bases very often. This base is heavier, more stable and has the proprietary"third hand" that came on all the AK vises. In addition the vise has the magnum jaws(in the vise now) and two extra sets of regular jaws-both in great condition. You'll notice a hackle gauge attached to the stem, the Dyna King material clip on top of the vise, the bench clamp for the vise comes with it along with a gallows hanger, and last but not least the Dyna King cement reservoir. The vise is in excellent shape. I've tied a lot of flies on it, but you will have a hard time wearing one of these vises out. I have a Barracuda that I use more so making some room on the desk. The reservoir will take a bit of solvent ... moreto loosen some old head cement in the bottom but is a great way to store the cement and prevent those bench spills. The converter screws into the barrel of any HMH Standard or Spartan vice in place of the standard jaws. This is a really useful, practical, addition for the HMH Standard and Spartan vices. HMH PREMIUM LIMITED EDITION VISE-Marked No. 76--Ex Vintage Cond
For your consideration is a very lovely and rare HMH Premium Limited Edition Vise in excellent vintage condition. Number 76 of 338 during the originator of HMH. Bill Hunter's years prior to sale to API in 1981. HMH records indicate this vise was sold in 1977 and most likely produced that year. This model was designed and built to be the finest vise made. Here are excerpts from a copy of Mr. Hunter's history for this vise(copy of history and manual included with purchase) The HMH Premium combined highly detailed. Precision ground and polished investment castings with finely machined stainless steel and brass components. Each part utilized materials that were metallurgically appropriate to their application. The vise jaws were made of a special Chrome-moly tool steel noted for its toughness. After a controlled hardening and tempering ... moreprocess, these components were hand lapped, polished and assembled. The HMH Premium was a hand labor intensive product, each one carefully sculpted out by machining and polishing. The finished product, however, made the extra effort all worthwhile. The HMH Premium Vise stood apart, a softly gleaming testimony to a manufacturing ethic that said cost is not a consideration, it is a consequence. We produced two batches or'runs' of the Premium Vise, totaling 338 units in all, each carrying its own serial number.The first ads offered the HMH Premium at $85.00, a price substantially higher than its competition(yet much lower than its actual cost. It is my understanding, since API purchased 1981, there have been limited runs of the Premium Vise, however I do not think there were over 500 produced total. This Premium Vise appears to have only been lightly used and not abused in any way. As the manual suggests.
