You are bidding on the original Regal rotary vise with bronze pedestal base. There's a 6.5" stem with swivel and traditional spring loaded jaws come with this. The one close-up on the body of the jaws show a chip taken out of the body. It doesn't affect the performance of this vise in anyway. The spring action on the jaws work great. This fits a W&W Model No. 9(W9) sewing machine and may fit other models. I have pictured the machine this part came from. The part has been cleaned and adjusted so it has smooth thread feed. There is slight discoloration and is dark in the hard to reach spots. The clip spring is strong. This holds the bobbins that measure 7/8" diameter x 5/16" thick. Antique primitive 10.5" LARGE WOODEN TEXTILE BOBBIN HOLDER + 2 SPOOLS Thread,
From Lancaster County. PA, home of the Amish& Mennonite communities, this is a large(10-1/2" tall) spool with 2 bobbins that fit into the holder. The bobbins are 9-3/4' tall with metal round rings on the bottom. The baby blue cotton is a slightly heavier ply than the emeral green cotton. Neither appear to have been used. The spool is made out of what I believe to be Tiger Maple based upon the pattern of the wood. It has a gorgeous pattina and pattern and would make a great free standing decorative piece. What a great authentic antique that can double as a candle holder! This charming remembrance of our industrial past was made by Singer in the early 1900's. It features a metal holder with two antique wood spools and a tall thread guide that is attached by a substantial hinge to a solid wood base. Everything is original. The center post of the spool holder is marked"Simanco USA" The manufacturers of Singer Sewing Machines. The holder was used in early sewing factories, but I have been using it as a candle display with other sewing accessories. The holder is quite substantial. Weighing almost 10 pounds with the two spools. The wood base is 20 inches long and 11 inches wide. It is 2 inches thick. With the spool holder and thread guide. But also fits model no 8. I have pictured how it looks installed. The parts have an antique finish with some discoloration. The bobbin case is patent dated 1888. All parts are in good working order. ANTIQUE EASTLAKE VICTORIAN 19th CENTURY CAST IRON VINTAGE SEWING THREAD SPOOL HOLDER A very rare antique Eastlake Victorian Thread Holder that is made of cast iron with four animal paw feet. There is a 8 pointed star design incised in the middle with flowers. Around the edge is a raised design that looks like a chain. There are 10 rods that hold spools of thread plus a rod in the middle that has a screw on ring for a handle(it can be taken off for another spool holder) When I purchased this piece. It came with the old spools of thread and a bobbin cover on one of the rods(see photo) This antique thread holder measures approximately 7 1/2" square(from foot to foot) x about 6 5/8" high(not including the ring handle) It is in good condition with no breaks or repairs. There is rust, here and there, and the rods on each side are very ... morerusty with no black finish left. I think that each side rod was probably used for metal bobbins and covers because of the one still on it. This is a very unusual antique Eastlake Victorian Thread Holder to add to any collection. This VINTAGE Warren D. Huse cast iron based bobbin holder has something to do with knitting-help me out if you can! It is marked"Simanco. Pat. 292490, U.S.A. and when I looked it up it said it was by"W.D. Huse Co. Pat. Jan. 29, 1884" There are spindles for three spools of thread or yarn that measure 21 1/2" tall. It has some rust, but seems to be in GOOD condition. It doesn't look exactly the same when I looked it up, so not sure if this one might be an earlier model. It does have something to do with knitting and it is really an UNUSUAL, interesting collectible item for that special someone! Antique Depression Era Sewing Pincushion Bobbin Holder
For auction is a very sweet and very beautiful antique. Handmade folk art rocking chair pincushion/bobbin holder/needle and notion drawer. The original fabric was a green feedsack but it was ripped so I replaced it with this elegant gold embossed turkey red fabric. I used the original raw cotton to restuff the cushion, after washing it. I also sanded, reglued and stained the piece. The drawer was missing the knob, so I found this heavy antique period-correct porcelain knob to replace it. All of the wooden dowels have been reglued and adjusted for a consistent height. After researching the fabric(it still had a bit of selvage) I've concluded that this was made about 1932. I am not sure what the back knob once held(maybe small scissors? but the rest of it is long gone; I left it as is but stained and varnished it rather than breaking it ... moreoff the rest of the way. This is a very romantic and functional piece. Some depression-era man made this for his wife a very long time ago. I enjoyed restoring it very much.
