This is a FANTASTIC Rotary head fly tying vise very early and no longer made. The vise comes with complete with a Thompson Hook/Hackle gage and a bobbin rest the total weight of the vise is 4.5 pounds it has adjustable jaw strength and a rotary lock to lock the head in place. I have used this vise for years with great success now the old eye sight is getting worse and I'm not tying any longer. The vise has a rotary knob and a thumb spindle for spinning the fly quickly. Herter's No. 9 Fly Tying Vise Manufactured by Thompson This was my first fly tying vise when I was a young man. Fantastic shape for its age. Dates back to the late 1960's and early 70's. I have several other vises now but have kept this one. You likely won't find one of these in this kind of condition. I believe that this may be a Thompson"A" vise built for Herter's. The name"Thompson" is on the cam lock lever. Everything functions perfectly. It is still a very useful vise for fly tying, jewelry making, or other tasks requiring the firm hold of small objects. Estate find vintage Regal fly vise. Vise has small chip in jaws but holds hooks firmly when inserted correctly, i tied a few size 6 wooly buggers to test and jaws hold a hook like a regal vise should. Here are 3 vintage fly tying vises. They have a little rust on the unpainted parts. But should cleanup with some scotchbrite. Been going thru my dads stuff and we don't fish. There is a Universal 2, It tightens up and when you pull the side know you can rotate the vise. It is missing the pad on the table clamp. There is a D.H. Thompson with a spare vise section. The spare one has a shorter chrome body, but a larger clamp at the end. Last is a Herters#3, it also is missing the table clamp pad. Please ask any questions.

Vintage FLY FISHING LAMP
You are bidding on a hand made fly fishermans lamp that I built several years ago. I built it when I broke the last tip on my bamboo rod and didn't want to retire it.The book and the base is cut and carved from a solid cherry tree that lightning decided to take down one summer. The creel and net is pretty old. But not as old as the Bamboo rod and old reel. As you can see in the picture they look new. The lamp has a 3 way switch and the cord is pretty long. I would be afraid to ship the shade as it would cost more than you could buy one for. I've had this in my office since I built it and now it's time to let someone else enjoy it as I have no one left here that would truly appreciate and care for it. The cherry wood makes it very heavy and the UPS store said it would take about $37 to ship it ground. Thanks for looking

My son-in-law said it does work.The long rod is 12" long and can be removed from the base,there is a little screw handle thing that tightens it up when in the base.The chrome seems to be in excellent shape,I have not cleaned it. The base is 4 1/2" by 4 1/2" and I really don't know what metal the base is made out of. If you need more pictures feel free to ask I try to keep my shipping as low as possible,with the box and vise it does weigh 2 lbs 5oz. If shipping is less due to your zip code I do reimburse the diff.

Vintage Rare Brass Gut Twister - Walton's Engine Design
Up for bid is one vintage"GUT TWISTER" AKA'Walton's Engine' This device is used to twist silkworm gut for making Salmon flies or horse hair to make lines. It has three hooks that all rotate in the same direction through internal gearing. The best I can tell one revolution of the crank handle rotates the hooks about 30 times. It is constructed out of brass except for the hooks and base screw which is steel. Having seen a few whale bone fishing lures. I would say the handle knob appears to be whale bone. It is in good working condition. There are no markings as to manufacturer or country of origin, but asking a knowledgeable person on fishing(first to identify what it was) he thought most of these were from the UK. The body measures 2-3/4" diameter. The hooks protrude out 1-1/4" the handle crank measures 1-1/2" ... morecenter to center, the knob is 1-3/4" high, the base screw measures 2-5/8" long(tip is broken, would've been longer) and weighs 7.9 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 13 ounces. Up for auction is a great old Thompson fly tying vise in the original two piece cardboard box. Paperwork included. Great vise, very clean, may not have been used but I will say used.
