Up for bid is a n Antique 194 0s to 1950s V intage 9.5"inch Pi ke Ice Fishing Wooden Spearing Decoy in original vintage condition and found here in Northe rn Michigan. It is brick red in co lor and t he maker is unknown but it was in a collection of very collectible decoys I found recently. It is missing some of the original paint and it has a beautiful patina and the tail is chipped. The fins a re all made out of old tin and the gills of the decoy have carved lines with a curved tail. This neat. Vintage, painted tack eyed, 7 inch, working"Cadillac Style Fish Spearing Decoy" was made by an unknown Cadillac. Michigan area maker. The estimated circa is 1950's-60's. The maker of this neat fish attractor had cleverly painted flowing blood from this decoys gills to give it a crippled look to his prey. Decoys from the Cadillac area school are highly sought after, for there were many legendary spear fishermen who were also reveared decoy makers. Hello. Here are three working decoys by Michigan carver Jed Blain. There are three total. These are not fancy decoys, they are working decoys made for decoying fish. 16" Pike shape. This is an example of Jed's crazy use of CD's and whatever is around to make an attractive fish. 10" You be the Judge? Gold color with glitter. Glass eyes, and a Swiss Swing on the tail. 8" Burbot shape. But painted silver with yellow/red spots. I think this is an older one. These are all from Jed's personal stable of decoys.

Michigan Ice Spear Hand Forged Vintage Great Shape
Up for sale today is a Michigan Vintage Ice spear. Used thru the Ice with decoys to spear large fish such as pike and stergon. Excellantly hand forged and tied together with a keyway to the main body. Spear has 7 tines measureing 7 1/4 wide x 8 long with a 48 inch handle with a hole to tie a retrival cord to. Shurely whoever built this spent many hours shapeing it. One tine has a small scar to the tine{ shown on the last picture on the outside tine} Hard to see. Sharp and has a wonderful patina. Could be used at any time but this one is in need of a collector to add it to his collection. Shows well and is awesome to hold. They are not built like this today. Don't let this one slip away. My dad is a yard sale and estate sale geek. Every weekend he’s out hunting"treasure" And sometimes he manages to bring home some pretty cool stuff. Most items are vintage and may have age related issues. I will try give you as much information as I know about each item. And as accurate of a description as I can. YOU WILL RECEIVE THE ACTUAL ITEM PICTURED This auction is for a 1950s Ice King 6- inch Pike Spearing Decoy made by the Bear Creek Bait Company in Kaleva. Michigan and the box it came in which is marked No. S30. I'm not sure what model this one actually is as I've seen it marked both S20 and S30 on other listings. But ... moreit comes with the box that it came in when my dad purchased it. I believe it is the Type III model that is made of molded hollow plastic including body. Fins, line tie, gills, mouth and eyes, with an integral lead ballast. The Eyes are two-color spray painted yellow/orange background with black pupil. Face, fin tips and tail tips are bright pink, body is white with silver glitter on top and sides. Some paint chipping on top of the line-tie and paint scrape across top of head. Box is in very good condition. Box is in good condition. Bottom seam along one side is split but corners are still sharp. Top of box has a small tear along one edge and white color has yellowed some from storage but corners are still crisp. One end is marked No. S30. Scarce Michigan Ice Spear Fishing Decoy- Pumpkinseed Sunfish- Circa 1930's An honest and scarce Pumpkinseed Sunfish winter spear fishing decoys from Michigan. This decoy dates to the 1930's or possibly the very early 1940's. Most fish decoys seen for sale today are either modern reproductions. Artisan made for the decoy art collector's market, or if made for actual use are just not exceptionally old. This is an honest fish decoy not made for any possible collector resale but for actual winter ice spearing use about 80 years ago. Very few of these actual decoys were carved as sunfish. Most having been carved as trout, perch, pike or just generic in depiction. So this decoy is also a scarce species to find in an early working fish decoy. For your consideration is a Michigan ice spearing decoy by John Kalash. Formally of Gibraltar, Michigan, C. 1970s. John is the legendary hunter, fisherman, and maker of many different kinds of game attracting decoys. On occasion some of his friends would challenge his sensibilities and show him examples of other great makers such as Hans Janner. This is a Janner inspired fish decoy, designed and created entirely by Kalash, using dark walnut from a tree he cut down and aged, copper fins and of a size more condusive to spearing Northern Pike. This is the last of 6 similar fish decoys. It is 11 inches long with a tail curved to produce a clockwise rotation. It has the configuration of a trout with copper fins. Line tie, lead ballast, glass eyes and the Kalash trapping tag are all intact. The surface is lightly stained, dark dorsal to lighter ... moreventral surfaces. It is finely tuned and has seen action on Lake Erie. The cost is $425.00 including priority postage and insurance.

Antique 1910's Hard Carved Primitive Sucker Fish Ice Decoy from Michigan This Antique 1910's Hard Carved Primitive Sucker Fish Ice Decoy from Michigan was in my late husband's Antique Ice fishing decoy collection for over 35 years. It was made in Michigan for spearfishing through the ice. This has a remarkable primitive look and yet it is extremely well hand-crafted and hand painted. This Decoy has a wonderful primitive color design with the black and grey 2-tone paint and has a sleek wooden body with metal fins designed as a great a working decoy with ballast. This antique hand carved ice fishing decoy is also a beautiful folk ark piece as well. It is in great condition for being over 100 years old. It has had little use and been well preserved which attributes to its great condition for its age It measures 5 1/2 inches long; ... more1 1/4 inches tall and the body without fins is 3/4 inched wide. The measurement width from fin the fin is 1 5/8 inches wide. This is a highly collectable piece and will make a great addition to your antique ice fishing collection.
