Up for bid is a n Antique 194 0s to 1950s V intage 9.5"inch Pi ke Ice Fishing Wooden Spearing Decoy in original vintage condition and found here in Northe rn Michigan. It is brick red in co lor and t he maker is unknown but it was in a collection of very collectible decoys I found recently. It is missing some of the original paint and it has a beautiful patina and the tail is chipped. The fins a re all made out of old tin and the gills of the decoy have carved lines with a curved tail. This is an early example of Mike's work before he went toward the ultra realistic style and has to be very unusual. It measures 6 1/2" long and has carve gill and mouth features. It is completely hand made and hand painted in the old schiool tradition. The condition is original and lightly fished with light wear and signs of age. The maker has signed the decoy by carving MO into the belly. It also has 2" carved next to the MO but I am not sure what this may mean. This is a VER Y VERY RARE spearing decoy handmade by John Bednarz over 40 yrs ago. I actu ally own what used to be the Browerville Bait and Tackle shop decades ago. It is wh ere John made decoys. C rafts. To tem poles AND sold bait. T his 3" d ecoy was a rarity for him but fo r a s hort time he made a very limited amount of these. The finicky fussy no rthern pi ke sometimes will not enter the spear hole if something is too big and intimidating. Thus a few of these were made. Better than money in the bank. VINTAGE FISHING SPEARING DECOY FRANK MIZERA, ELY, MN
Hello. Up for consideration is an old working- silver. Black and white pike made by Frank Mizera(1898-1969) who was from Ely, MN. As you can see from the photos, it has lots of wear and a damaged/missing tail. It has seen many days in the dark house. The side fins are all original. And it has the white fish-on-fish designs on the top of the fish and along the sides. It has a single tie line, carved(or tack) eyes, and signature sloped-nose. It is very dirty, but I didn't want to clean it, i'll leave it up to it's new owner. The decoy has flaws as the pictures show, but here's a chance to get a Frank Mizera at a reduced cost. This neat. Vintage, painted tack eyed, 7 inch, working"Cadillac Style Fish Spearing Decoy" was made by an unknown Cadillac. Michigan area maker. The estimated circa is 1950's-60's. The maker of this neat fish attractor had cleverly painted flowing blood from this decoys gills to give it a crippled look to his prey. Decoys from the Cadillac area school are highly sought after, for there were many legendary spear fishermen who were also reveared decoy makers. Hello. Here are three working decoys by Michigan carver Jed Blain. There are three total. These are not fancy decoys, they are working decoys made for decoying fish. 16" Pike shape. This is an example of Jed's crazy use of CD's and whatever is around to make an attractive fish. 10" You be the Judge? Gold color with glitter. 5 Vintage or Antique Spear Spearing Ice Frog Fishing Decoy U.S. Line Company MA
Here is something unusual. Five old frog or fish spearing heads. One in particular is of interest here. It has the label mark for U.S Line Company Westfield. Mass with an eagle logo, and U.S.L. Brand. I believe this is very rare, I could not find any others like it in past or current listings on this site, I did find some catalogs from this company from the early 1950's. The item is like new, five tines, and measures about 3" x 7' x 1" There is also another one that looks like it is made from brass, or copper, it measures 4" x 9 1/4' x 1 1/8" It is marked, made in ND. Then there is one that is green, heavy steel, with an open tang, it measures 5" x 10 1/4' x 1 1/8" no markings which I can see. Number four is the bigger blue spear head 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 1 1/4" no markings. The last ... moreone is the smaller blue spear head 4 1/2" x 8' x 1" it has the initials PL engraved on to it. My thinking is taht the smaller spear heads ar for frogs, and the bigger ones for fish. Please check out the pictures, and thank you for looking.

Ron Hamm is a well known and well liked. Old time fish decoy carver from Northern Minnesota. He is the real deal. A great back woods guy with lots of experience on the ice. Vintage nice wooden Ice fishing Spearing Mouse Fish Decoy wood / glass eyes WOW!
This auction is for a Ice fishing Spearing Mouse Decoy. It is made of wood with glass eyes and has metal legs and two lead weight undernieth. The wood was not painted when finished. But instead had a wood stain color and a varnish finish. I do not know how old the decoy is or who made it. Makes a great gift for the fishing collector. FROG- ICE FISHING DECOY This early ice fishing/ spearing decoy is a vintage/ antique hand carved wood with a lead weight in the bottom. The frog is about 8" long and is painted in green with black& white spots. It is not signed but wonderfully proportioned and decorated. There is some paint loss as shown in the photos. Here is a neat old. Unfished FISH BUST'R wood spearing decoy in its original packaging. Marked on the bag with 5134, but the 4 has been replaced with a 5 on one side, and a 6 on the other. Perhaps it was an experimental color that they didn't have a label for. It has the Baxter, MN address. I believe this dates back to the 1960's or 70's. Black back with silver sides and sprinkled with glitter. This is the smallest 5" model. Hard to find in it's original packaging. Duluth Fish Decoys Dave Perkins Folk Art Coin Trout Ice Fishing Spearing Decoy
Here we have a Duluth Fish Decoys Folk Art Trout Ice Fishing Spearing Decoy. This decoy is in excellent shape and was made by Dave Perkins of DFD. This is a very unique piece as it has coins embedded on both sides. The paint and carving on this piece look great and there is no damage to the piece. The bottom of the fish is signed DFD and it is about 12" in length. This decoy also has glass eyes that look nice and overall this is a wonderfully made decoy.
