They both have line& hooks w/leaders and appear to be in used but very good condition. The tip-up with the line on it has some minor tarnish on the main shaft. The tip-up without line has a 1" blue/green colored mark on it. I didn't try scrubbing it off. So I wouldn't damage the finish. The wing nut on the side is broken, it still works, I just didn't have one to replace it. These are from when Beaver Dam switched over from the brass name tags to the 1st sticker tags that still had the patent# on them. Tip ups with theses particular stickers are very rare so they are very sought after by collectors. One is a 25th Aniversary special, not collector quality there is a screw hole by the 25th emblem and a tiny nail hole on the other end by the flag, there are some scrapes on the side and a mark at 15" which is the size limit on Walleyes in some Wisconsin lakes, middle one has nice wood grain, looks like it was used very little if at all, flag looks like new, the third has the old olive drab paint. This measures about 34” by 13” when collapsed for carrying and about 56 1/2” long when screwed together for use. TEN very old wooden ice fishing"TIP UPS" I really do not know how these work-I was told they are called"TIP UPS" for ice fishing. ~ NICE& OLD ~ 5 are what looks like lacquered vintage"OAK" wood measuring each about 24" long x 1 7/8" wide x about 3/8" thick. String still wrapped on the wood and they each have vey old tattered and torn black fabric flags. There is a piece of inlaid copper wire on each board. Up for auction is another item from my late Brother-in-law's* collection. 18) Hand Carved Ice Fishing/Spearing Decoy Mouse"cheater style" Maker: GRAY EAGLE(painted on bottom) Size: Approx. 6 inches long. Details: Hand carved ice fishing/spearing decoy. This is a mouse with a rather large hook attached to the belly. I heard you'd call it a"cheater" decoy. The body has been painted. It has metal ears, bead eyes, heavy wire whiskers, and leather front legs and tail. The rear legs are wood and set into the rear end. There is a propeller- type spinner in the front. I'm saying it's used, but I really don't know for sure. There is no corrosion on the metal parts, so it may just be old and unused. He was a collector of all sorts of fishing tackle. I would say that these two tips ups are in very good condition. One of the tip ups has the letter K on the flag. One of the tip ups the spring guide instead of being a solid circle was cut open by a fisherman to make it easier to put the line and hook through. I have seen this done on several Beaver Dam tip ups that I had. I do believe that you can apply a little heat to this cut circle and it will close up. One spring on one of the tip ups has a little light rust and the spring has some separation in it but it still functions-see photos. These springs actually should be turned periodically to keep the spring from separating. The boards I would say are in very good condition with good ... morevarnish-there is a sliver of wood missing on one end of one tip up-nothing serious. Again. Vintage Antique Ice fishing pole holder and sled
Up for auction is an antique ice fishing sled and rod holder. It was made in the fifties by my neighbors dad. It has old hinges and screws on the top with a carved out handle and rope to pull it. It is slightly blackened on the inside from the use of a lantern.It has a galvanized sheet metal bottom with brass hooks on the inside for poles and tackle. Antique Vintage Ice Fishing Rod with Bakelite Handle for Fishing Reel
Rod is in good condition with no cracks in bakelite handle and metal is good. When you pull on trigger like pc it slides over reel base to hold reel securely. It measures 31 inches long.
