Vintage St.Croix Ultra-Light Fishing Rod
Up for auction is a Vintage St.Croix 8100-L Ultra-Light fishing rod. The rod is 5' in length but can be separated into 2 pieces. The rod shows much wear but is what can be expected from a fishing rod around 50 years old. I'm also attaching an article from the St.Croix website explaining some of it's history. 1957 1st Ultra- Light Rod: Remember the 8100-L? Not many do. But it was the great-granddaddy of a flourishing family of St. Croix ultra-lights. Built in four lengths with a Tennessee handle for hands and reel, rods ranged in weight from 3-1/2 oz. for the 78" model to just 2-1/4 oz. for the 48" version. Not bad for fiberglass and 1950s technology, even if we say so ourselves.

It is a trolling rod and I planned on using it on Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. I have sold my boat and will no longer be needing this rod.
