Great memories came back to me when I found my grandfathers old fishin' box in the rafters of his garage. My first introduction to deep sea fishing was with him. He always kept his gear organized and clean. This box is in very good condition and is clean. With very few dings. But NO dents. There are a couple of so called worm burns in the plastic trays. There are no reels or valuable lures in this box. There are stains, some rust stains from contents(probably old steel stringers) in the bottom, but aluminum itself does not rust so the box is not compromised from any self-corrosion. There are dents. Scratches, but the back hinge is extremely strong, and front latches work. the inside mechanism for shelving is all in good workable condition. I am guessing it is from the 50's. There are no major defects on the box except for light scratching on the bottom and it needs a good cleaning on the outside and inside. Brass colored locking mechanism works fine. Inside it is full of fishing stuff, old lures, hooks, a bobber, split-shot(whatever that is) and various other items. We really didn't look through it or take anything out of it-just not our cup of tea. Perhaps someone out there would find some use for it. This is a vintage item, and may show signs of wear or use. I vacuumed the box and wiped it down, so its free of dirt, dust and junk. All the paint is original, there is some minor surface rust but there is no body damage and the box is still fully functional. 1930 vintage Simonsen Heavy Duty Deco Metal Fishing Tackle Box with Key
50. A locking tackle box that measures 9 x 18” x 10” high and weighs 11 lbs. Simonsen Chicago on handle as well as a decal on top. The original key works fine. Insert key. Turn slight to click and slide keyknob down. No dents snaps lock tight. No loose or damages parts.just needs some minor inside cleaning.
