ABP AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS CRYSTAL CELERY TRAY SUPERB BLANK WITH 7 MOTIFS For your consideration is this fantastic American Brilliant Period(c.1876-1916) cut glass celery tray with no less than seven different motifs. I did not find a signature and was unable to identify the pattern or who cut it. Though some elements remind me of J. Hoare& Company. This is a superior quality. Water-white blown blank that fluoresces a lime green color when black light tested. The cutting is deep and precisely executed and the polishing is excellent resulting in outstanding brilliance and light refracting qualities. The tray measures 12" long. 4 5/8" wide and 2 1/4" high. It has a substantial weight of 2 lbs. 4oz. It is in excellent condition with only two minor nips on the teeth and a few tiny flakes on the pattern as shown enlarged ... morein the photos. This fine example of ABP cut glass displays magnificently and would make an outstanding addition to any collection. Defects such as cracking and rust lessen the value of rods. Most of the later fiberglass models are fairly inexpensive except for those issued by Russ Peak! Taking all of this into account. It’s hard to find rods in pristine shape and it’s always a nice caveat to have your name on the rod you own…assuming you knew the maker, purchased a rod from someone with the same last name, or were lucky enough to inherit a fantastic custom rod. So, how often do you have the opportunity to purchase a blank from one of the greatest fly rod makers, at the pinacle of his career, hand picked by the maker, and customize the rod to your liking? Cambridge made this gorgeous Triple Light Candle Holder in the late 1930's. This was a blank that they would etch patterns on. Although they sold them without etching's also. The blank is# 1307 and is 5 1/4" tall and 8 inches across from holder to holder. No chips, dings or cracks. This is a Paden City Glass Co. Dessert Plate made between 1916 and 1942. It is the Pams Floral Etch in the Crow's Foot Design. It is in very good condition. There are no chips. Flakes, cracks or damage to this very old piece. It is clear and without any dull areas. It is just over 10" square but with rounded corners. Insured shipment included in the cost of shipping. Here's a larged V-shaped vase on the FLAIR blank that measures 9 3/4" tall. 4 3/4" across the top rim and 4" across the foot. A closer look at the detailed etch is shown below. Condition is excellent- no chips. Cracks, ... morenicks, flakes, stains or other damage/ problems of note. A close inspection turned up two VERY TINY'dips' next to one another on the thin top edge of the rim. These appear to be factory annealing issues, though it's possible that they're wee'flea bites' we can't be sure. Either way, they're invisible to the naked eye from a distance of a foot or so, and they don't detract from this big handsome piece in any way. If this description. This listing is for an Imperial Verde(Green) Provincial Blank#1506 Tri-Handled Candy Box minus the lid. It was manufactured by the Imperial Glass Company during the early to mid-1970’s. It first appeared in the Imperial catalogue in 1971. It is unusual to find one of these with all three sets of handles intact; however. There is a small chip on one of the upper handles. It stands 3 inches high with a 2 7/8 inch base and a 5 inch external diameter(4 3/8 inch internal lip) I do not profess to be an expert on Glass. RUSS PEAK(1912– 2001) Pasadena. California- As an inquisitive 7-year-old, Seymour Singer wandered the two blocks from his Pasadena home into Russ Peak's fly-rod shop 30 years ago. What Singer found was a friend, mentor and avid fly angler and rod builder. I lived at that shop, Singer recalls. He was quite unusual in what he did and he was a perfectionist. We likened his rods to the Stradivarius. said longtime friend Will Trefry of San Marino Peak custom-built rods for the world's best fly anglers. Including Lefty Kreh and David Whitlock. And for numerous world leaders. He made a gold-fitting five-star rod for former President Dwight Eisenhower and was praised for his work by former President Jimmy Carter. Peak operated a small shop at 21 N. Allen for 53 years. It was open only on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. When it closed ... morebecause of his failing health in 1990. He had enough orders for at least seven years of work. He sold the business in 1993 to Kerry Burkheimer. Who manufactures rods the way Peak did. It was not an economical deal for him. Singer said of the six months it took to fill an order. His rods were perfect, flawless. There was nothing wrong with them. It was a matter of perfection. I thought it was his style. Trefry said of the wait. People just wanted his rods. While a paint supervisor at Cal Tech. Peak began making fiberglass rods- his Zenith model- out of his Pasadena home in 1939. He was receiving so many guests at the house, located at 182 S. Berkeley, he opened the shop, which Don Sturzenacker said was smaller than the study of his South Pasadena home. He first built bamboo rods but switched to fiberglass. Each was individually designed and forged in Santa Ana. About the rod– Measures 107" Weighs 1.63 oz. 2 piece, and does not have the guides placed. Inscribed RP905 Use Rosewood Seat CF 905) There is no rod weight designation. 1930's Hazel Atlas Black Glass Plain Salt & Pepper Shakers Blank Lot #1 of 2
1930's Hazel Atlas Black Glass Plain Salt& Pepper Shakers Blank Lot#1 of 2 Search This is a very interesting and collectible early or depression era pair of black glass salt and pepper shakers produced by the L. E. Smith Glass Company Probably in the early 1930's. After careful testing I am unsure whether this is"black amethyst. black ruby" or"pure black" glass. I see no sign of color in the strongest light, but one can never be sure. The molds used to make this form were also engraved to create the famous Hazel Atlas"Cloverleaf" pattern. These pieces were identical, but lack the raised design elements. These may be called blanks for that pattern, but that term must be used advisedly. At this same time, the American"elegant glass" makers often used a two-step process to produce their famous ... morepatterns. First a blank form was produced, then the decoration, in the form of etching, cutting or overlay was done. Depression glass was a one-stop process. Simply put, from the mold to the store shelf. Depression glass companies generally did not produce blanks for later decoration. However, Hazel Atlas had a sideline. Besides their patterned depression glass they also made a more plain line of kitchen glass, some of which was later decorated, usually with fired-on paint designs. In this case, the shakers have bareful visible silver overlay floral designs that have almost completely worn off. I believe that these shakers were marketed as"kitchen glass" table shakers. What is not so clear is whether these pieces were produced before, at the same time as, or after their depression glass cousins. These shakers each measures about 1-1/4 inches in diameter and stands about 3-3/4 inches tall. Both shakers are in very good used condition no damage to the glass but small dents to the chromed metal covers and a slight vertical split to the metal on each piece, as shown in the photographs. Vintage Heisy Glass Rose Etched Divided Relish Tray- Waverly Blank
Heisy was founded in 1895 in Newark. Ohio and continued doing business until 1957. This vintage divided two handled relish tray is 7.75 inches by 5 inches and 2.25 inches from the tip to the base. The pattern has a classic etched design of a rose. The base of the tray has two places with a slight nick, otherwise in fine condition. The base is marked with the diamond H. Weight is 14.8 ounces. The yellow tint in the base of the tray in Photo 1 is a light reflection. EBay will estimate parcel select mailing costs based upon shipping weight and destination. ANTIQUE T. G. HAWKES ETCHED GLASS FINGER BOWL FOOTED CLOVERS STEUBEN BLANK SIGND
Up for your consideration is a beautiful antique T.G. Hawkes& Co. footed finger bowl. The bowl is beautifully etched with a floral and clover design. The bowl looks to be a Steuben blank#1585 that I found pictured on page 323 in"The Glass Of Frederick Carder Book By Paul V. Gardner. Dated 1971" Steuben made blanks for TG Hawkes from 1903 to 1932. I believe this is an earlier piece because of the mark. The mark is acid etched on the foot of the bowl and is shown in my pictures. The bowl measures 5" diameter and is a 1-1/4" deep. The total heighth is 3-5/8" tall with a 3-1/16" diameter base. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There is surface wear on the base consistent with age. Thank you for looking. Corning Pyrex 6 inch diameter fine annealed mirror blank with low bubble content. Comes with 6" diameter. 1" thick plate glass tool. Also included is 1/2 lb. of number 80 silicon carbide abrasive to form the initial curve.The pyrex blank has been rough ground on a different tool to a depth of about 1mm. This tool has been used to grind and polish an f/8 mirror. So the mirror and tool curves do not match exactly. But you have a big head start on the rough grinding operation. There is plenty of#80 SiC included to finish rough grinding and matching the curves. The plate glass tool should be beveled before proceeding. The tool has some edge chips. Up for auction is a lovely ABC 9" bowl in the COMBINATION ROSE pattern that I believe was made by the Irving Glass Co. out of Honesdale Pa. Irving mainly used FRY blanks to decorate their glassware. The bowl weighs 4 1/2 lbs with a 3/8"wide figured blank and the height at the tallest point is 4 1/4' The decoration consists of 4 frosted roses with a tiny hobstar inside. Unopened rose buds, leaves that sparkle like diamonds and 3 diagonal rows of cane. Lastly there are a handful of pinhead sized SHALLOW flakes noted here and there, several nicks is some sporatic age consistant light scratch wear on the underside of the bowl where it sits. Radium Pattern by Fry ABP Brilliant Cut Glass Oblong Fruit Bowl Thick Blank
The bowl is referenced in a 1906 Ad listed as H.C. Fry in the Radium Pattern in Glass& Pottery Volumes 13-14. This bowl has a beautiful flared rim. Oblong bowl has a most unusual shape. The glass is 1/2" thick at the rim. It is 10 5/8" long x 8 1/4" wide and 3 1/2" tall. It weighs 4 lbs. The bottom has a panel of 4 six-sided, 24-point hobstars. On the sides, there is a central hobstar with half radiant stars. The blank is very clear and colorless; the cutting and the blank are polished to a very high brilliance.
