SUPER NICE" PLUG or HOT SHOT" ROD. The rod was special made for the previous owner guide and was used for back trolling PLUGS like the Storm Wiggle warts and Luhr Jensen hot shot PLUGS. It had the early ABU GARCIA AMBASSADEUR 6000 red reel on it that I also have in auction this week. The rod is a 2 piece fiberglass fishing rod. It has the old style wire line guides(heavy duty style) The rod is only marked with the name DICK Babcock Eugene. Oregon. I don't know if that was the maker of the rod or the previous owners name. The rod blacnk has NO OTHER MARKINGS-I was told this was a Fenwick Blank but it is NOT MARKED any place I can see ... moreFenwick. The rod has the real old style metal joint at the mid section and it is VERY TIGHT(It needs cleaned to make it easier to put the rod together) Both pieces of the rod are 48 1/2 inches making the rod an 8 foot rod. NO LINE WEIGHT or LURE WEIGHT are given for the rod. Photos show exactly what you are getting. The rod was found inside the gray cloth rod sock that looks to be handmade and fits the rod well. 6 foot long. No visible markings. But had has grooves for gimbel, chromed reel seat(spotted) Wooden handles. Appears to be handmade. Custom? AF Co tip. Very heavy duty boat rod suitable for 4/0 or large reels. Reminds me of the heavy duty rods supplied to party boat customers I remember from my youth.

This Garcia rod blank looks to be used only a few times as the bamboo wood is in like new perfect condition. The guides are custom or home wrapped? The second guide from the tip is a different one from the rest(see last photo) The turned wood handle looks great! The tip is a roller for trolling big game. The rod is very nice vintage but shows some scuffs from prior use and age. The cork handle is in great shape but hardening slightly from age? This rod is 7 1/2 foot long. Thanks for looking.
