Ten Bamboo fly rod tips. Bamboo fly rod. Rod building and repair
This is for a lot of vintage bamboo fly rod tips. There are ten tips total. They range from 32-1/2" to 36-1/2" long. They all have ferrules and tip tops except one with no tip top. This tip has a ferrule but no guides. All the rest appear to have all the guides on them. The two tips at the top of the photos have an issue. The light colored tip has a repair wrap about 4" from the tip. It is well done and almost invisible. The other one is the one with no guides and has a separation about 3" long in the cane about half way up. I don't know if it is separated or a piece of cane is missing. The other eight tips are good. They appear to be full length. There do not appear to be any tips that where broken at the tip top end. Possibly one may have been shortened at the ferrule end. Not sure. The two tips with the blue tape ... morearound them are a matching pair of tips. Some of These tips need some straightening. The finish is good on some and some the finish is worn. Rod blanks for rod building. 26 blanks. The longest is 76 inchs long and shortest is 45 inchs long. smallest diameter at tip is 1.9MM and largest but diameter is 14.5 MM. There are either black or brown in color. I believe these are new old stock. No names or decals. I am not sure if they are fiberglass or graphite. They could be used for spinning rods or even tips on fly rods. There are 2 flyrod butt sections and 2 spin rod butt sections.
