Up for sale is a Fin-Nor 20-30lb 5'8 fishing rod with Aftco roller guides and Aftco removable unibutt. This rod is a rare find. Purchased for $379. The reel seat area is gold anodized and the rod is wrapped in black and gold. The rod uses an e-glass blank. It is in excellent condition but does have some minor cosmetic blems(from being on a boat) Very minor, nothing that would effect the rod strength in any way. The foam has an area where it looks like a hook had snagged(please see attached picture) All in all this is a very nice looking and quality fishing rod that is a great buy. Vintage rod and reel with copy of patent papers for the rod and reel locking mechanism. The rod is a True Temper with some unique features. It has the patented“Speedlock” fishing-rod handle. This method of attaching the reel to the rod was patented in 1925 with patent number 1534674. I have a copy of the original patent papers and drawings and will include them. The rod itself has a patent number 1755159; issued in 1930. This patent was for a metallic casting fishing rod possessing qualities of strength and flexibility. Rod is made of square steel tapered from handle to tip. Line guides are red glass in a brass support and attached to the rod with wrapped fine copper wire. The tip eye is missing and repairs attempted(see photo) Overall length of the rod is 55” I also have patent papers and drawings for the rod. You are getting 2 vintage fishing booklets for one price and one shipping cost. Tackle Tricks With Wire" was published by Netcraft Co. In Toledo, Ohio in 1969. It is a softcover booklet of 60 pages with illustrations. It shows a bit of tanning on the cover due to age, but inside the book is perfect. How to Wrap a Rod with Gudebrod" was published by Gudebrod Bros. Silk Co in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1975. It has 24 pages with illustrations. Both are about 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches and in very good condition with no rips or writing inside. Spring is coming-get out and get fishing!

How I suggest you repair: Buy brass or steel rod and epoxy them into place. After. Wrap the area with either matching rod thread or thin carbon fiber wrap. The unit is made of mostly brass and shows some great patina. The free standing support is adjustable in height. The end support with the circular fitting at the top is broken at the base. It needs to be brazed or threaded into the hole. The thread winder shows some light rust. All other parts are in good useable or for display condition. There are two bottles of Weber Rodspar Varnish.
