Fenwick HCA 605 fishing rod blank with ferrule
Up for bid is a Fenwick fishing rod blank. This rod is about 63" long. And it says on the sticker- says HMG Iron Hawk- Graphite- Blank No. HCA 605. There is nothing that I can see written on the rod, and I think it has ever eyes on it. It does have a ferrule attached that looks like it might fit on of the old Fuji handles.

Auction is for a Vintage Fenwick FL-108-8F BLANK Feralite 2-piece Fishing Rod Fly Rod. The#108 in model designates this rod is 108" or 9' Rod weight is 4.7 oz. Rod Blank is in nice condition. The only issue. As I see it, is the rod has rather crude wraps on the eyes and tip.as can be seen in the pictures. Rod cork handle, reel seat, eyes, ferrule(feralite) and tip are nice! it's just that the wraps are different. The finish on the rod is nice and shiny. A really neat old rod! Note on the label says the blank design/model never made the catalog. I cannot say he didn't take it out to test it, but it doesn't look it. Rod weight 4.4 oz. on my postal scale. The rod was made from a Loomis IM6 blank with a tip over butt ferrule. The rod has what appears to be a very nice Winston walnut reel seat. With a cork handle and line guides wrapped in a dark green. This rod was custom made from the very sought after FFL 108-8 Fenwick blank that was sold in 1974 according to the catalogs. Chances are this was made for Salmon fishing. But I have no idea. Eyes are in great shape and the reel retainer is a screwing wedge type with a wedding band back up lock. This is a nice rod but does show some wear.
