St. Croix 7 1/2' fly rod, 4/5 weight, SCIV blank, made in USA
This rod doesn't see the water enough. So I'm selling it for someone else to enjoy. It's a St. Croix 7.5-foot two-piece fly rod, custom made by maker JW Trout on the classic medium-action SCIV blank, which was manufactured in the USA. The rod is rated for a 4/5 line; I like it with a SA XPS WF 5-weight. It's a good size for smaller streams where you may run into a bigger fish. The blank is matte green, with translucent brown wraps. It does not come with a rod sock or tube, but I will ship in a hard PVC plastic tube. Terms: Please pay within three days of auction's end. I purchased this with a bunch of other Fenwick rods that are all Fenglass so I would assume it is the same vintage. The rod is in excellent condition as seen in the pictures. The cork handle is in great condition as well. The reel is a Wright and McGill Eagle Claw Model A. D. W. Gill Autographed 3B model in good condition. Rare Sage LL 486-3 Fly Rod with Blank Warranty Card Beautiful Excellent Cndition
This is a beautiful used Sage LL Fly Rod. Graphite III construction. Three piece. Eight and a half foot for four weight. Cork is barely soiled as this rod has only seen the water a handful of times. Seems I neglect it so it should be in the hands of someone who will give it water time. There are a some slight scratches to the reel seat end but these could be buffed out. Amazingly, the nickel silver is still pretty shiny. Maybe not as bright as the showroom days but still looks really nice. I have gone over the rod and cannot see any scratching or dings to the blank. There is barely any indication that the rods ferrules have ever come together as I always kept a good layer of wax on them. This has the split ring hook keeper as well. All wraps in great shape. No chunks out of the cork. The tube shows wear but is perfectly round. Cap fits perfectly ... moreand still has the rubber seal. And the most amazing part is that I never filled out the original warranty card so that comes with it as well. Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and Riffle? project rod
This auction includes one Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and one project rod. The Lamiglas is the 6'6" 3 wt version. I installed a Hopkins/Holloway tip top on it. The project rod is a 5'6" fiberglass blank with spigot ferrules. My best guess is that this is an older Riffle blank. But I can't verify that. I can't even verify that it is a fly blank, but it is a medium to medium fast action blank that feels suited to a 4 or 5 weight line. I installed a short cork grip(4 1/4" and reel seat with blued nickle silver fittings and a black tip top. The ferrule fit will need to be adjusted because the male end is slightly undersized at the very end and it doesn't fit perfectly.

This is a beautiful flamed bamboo fly rod. I purchased the rod just as shown and originally had planned to restore it for an excellent wall hanging piece but no longer have the time. My loss is your gain. With some TLC this could be an amazing rod again. The rod has no markings or information about the maker or taper. There does not appear to be any finish on the rod and the guides are currently separate. The blank is in very good shape. I see only a few spots were there are minor imperfections(likely from where someone stripped the finish with a blade) The cork grip is in amazing condition and does not show any major damage or voids. Orvis Trident TL blank - 9' 6wt fly rod
This 2 piece rod was built on an Orvis Trident TL blank in 2004 by a WI builder. Comes with rod sock and 6' metal rod tube. Used by me on rare occasions. High-modulus graphite is applied over a mandrel that incorporates many changing angles. Rather than just one steady taper from butt to tip. The resulting compound taper results in a fly fishing rod that strategically uses less material in key locations. The fly fishing rod designer can vary the wall thickness and overall diameter in an infinite number of ways, precisely controlling action and weight. A major factory upgrade includes the addition of laser gauging equipment and precision grinding machines. With a tolerance of 1/1000 of an inch, the fit at the ferrule is perfect resulting in a seamless transmission of power from butt to tip.

Custom Fly Rod 8wt 9 1/2 ft on a Scott blank
This is what I know about this rod. I bought it from a Steelheader who lived in Willamette Valley. Oregon and he said it was a custom Deschutes steelhead rod made by Steve Blake in Sisters, Oregon on a Scott blank. I took him at his word(no reason not to) and fished it on and off on the Deschutes last year before switching to a spey setup for Steelhead. There is no signature or markings on the rod to confirm or deny the maker or make of this rod, but the fit and finish is extremely nice and detailed. The cork and hardware is in excellent shape and it casts great. Overall a really well made rod. Could be a reliable rod for steelhead or stripers or bonefish. Would price it much higher, but as there's no way to guarantee it's origin, I'm pricing it very fairly. Ships with a hard plastic rod tube and custom rod sock.

Here is a Custom built 9' 2 Pc fly rod. Sage blank, 5 wt rod, very nice rod! It measures the full length 9 ft long when assembled with each section being 55" long. The tip has never been broken and all the sections fit tightly with no slack and the rod looks great. I had a terrible time getting good photos that depict the details of the rod and I tried several different settings. The rod is a very dark brown color. If you need better pictures email me and if the snow melts I will take some pictures in natural light, it should show up better. The cork is dirty and I did not try to clean it but it should clean up nice. You will like this rod especially in smaller and midsize streams. Vintage Custom Fly Rod - 8'6" 2 piece 6wt HMG graphite with Tube - Fenwick Blank
I just went through my collection of fly rods. And discovered I have more than a few too many. This rod is a lightly used, custom build 8'6" HMG graphite rod, 6wt, 2 piece. I would guess it was made using a Fenwick blank. I had this rod out last weekend and cast it head to head with my mid-1980s Fenwick 8'6" HMG graphite rod for comparison. The performance of this rod is identical, using both WF6 and WF5 floating lines. It throws a nice medium loop as you would expect from a Fenwick, using both standard and double haul casting techniques. The blanks are the same color, and the wrappings are nicely done in a dark burgundy or brown color, that suits the rod well. As you can see, the rod inscription also says"Special H. F. Guja" which could be the rod builder or the customer's name. The rod comes with a nice tan ... morefaux leather travel case which as two PVC tubes inside that perfectly fit the 8'6 rods dimensions. The rod builder did nice job on this one using flex coat over the windings, in the Fenwick style. I personally own four other Fenwick HMGs including an 8'5" 5wt. The 6wt discussed above, that I use for trout, panfish, and bass, as well and two heavy duty 9" 8wt and 10wt rods with fighting butts for larger Pike and Muskies. This would be a great rod for any type of light or medium size trout. Bass, or panfish streams and lakes and will provide plenty of backbone for anything but the longest casts. Also there is a total of 8 eyes on the rod, 2 on the lower part and 6 on the 2nd piece or end of rod. They all look to be made really well, I would assume it was made in USA. I would date this rod back to somewhere around the early 1980s, but just my guess. The only minimal flaw to it, is that it when put together it appears there is a small(very minimal) bend to the 2nd piece. Looks like it perhaps been leaning up against a wall for a little while in storage. This is only minimal and when you look down the rod straight. I do not ... moreknow if this will affect the fishing with it, or can be fixed. Maybe it can be fixed and I would think that this rod is still fishing worthy. Powell Companion Fly Rod - Fisher "Natural" Graphite Blank - Powell Reel Seat
For sale is a very nice“Powell Companion” 3 Piece/2 Tip, 9’ Fly Rod. Built on a Fisher"Natural" graphite blank with a Powell reel seat this is one of the series of“Powell Companion” kit rods distributed out of Chico. California. This rod was made from one of the kits by the late John Williams. A noted Northern California fly fisherman who occasionally taught fly tying classes at Henry’s Fork and made beautiful rods in his spare time. This particular rod is 9’ in length with 2 tips. One a 5 wt and the other a 6 wt. The use of 2 tips of different specifications was the idea behind this series of rods. Each section of the rod is just over 55” in length. In a conversation with one of the principals from Powell when it was Chico based he indicated that the rod was from the early 1990s. This is a very well made rod that has been used ... moreonly a few times and is in excellent condition.
