Book is in Acceptable condition with dust jacket. Jacket is worn and chipped but intact. The book has been well protected by the jacket and is still bright with embossed title on spine. The text block. While solid and tight, is beginning to separate from the spine. There are no loose pages(as stated, binding is tight) but there are a few places where the text block has been'broken' at the interior hinge, exposing the binding glue. Aside from some minor foxing(discoloration from age and acidity of the paper) the pages are clean and free from tears or marks. This is a good book with plenty of life left in it. All editions are in excellent condition. No dog-ear pages. Margin notes, underlines, or tears* and limited yellowing. The mailing labels have been removed and glue residue stain remains on the back covers. The set is complete with the exception of the following six missing editions: 1980 September-October& November-December; 1984 November-December; 1985 May-June; 1992 May-June; 1993 May-June. The 1991 July-August edition has a three inch non-repaired tear on the front cover(no tape) Also included ... moreis a vintage 74 page 1979 Dale Clemens Custom Tackle Catalog in perfect condition. Whether a collector or a rod builder this catalog and the Journals provide a history of custom rod building over the last 25 years. The Index helps the reader find articles interest quickly. Later editions include an index included in the Journal. While rod blanks. Epoxies, and guide materials have changed over the years, the basic art of building a rod has not. These Journals include tips of the trade, weaving and wrapping instructions, rod design, rod repair, and just about everything concerning custom rod building. It is fun to thumb through Dale’s catalog and see that a set of AFTCO regular roller guides were $17.33 in 1979 are $62.00 today! The entire collection includes: one 1979 Dale Clemens Catalog. A bound 1975-1988 Journal Index, and 111 individual Journals. After 35 years, I am shutting down my custom rod business and liquidating assets.
