Fin-Nor AHAB 20-30lb Fishing Rod with Aftco Roller Guides 5'8 in length
Up for sale is a Fin-Nor 20-30lb 5'8 fishing rod with Aftco roller guides and Aftco removable unibutt. This rod is a rare find. Purchased for $379. The reel seat area is gold anodized and the rod is wrapped in black and gold. The rod uses an e-glass blank. It is in excellent condition but does have some minor cosmetic blems(from being on a boat) Very minor, nothing that would effect the rod strength in any way. The foam has an area where it looks like a hook had snagged(please see attached picture) All in all this is a very nice looking and quality fishing rod that is a great buy. The hand wrapper is 5' long 12" high 14" deep. it has 2 sliding wrap/thread trays one is complete with tension bar the other is empty but should not be too hard to duplicate. it has a magnified shop light that reaches the entire length. It has spring tension rod hold downs with rubber wheels and plastic rollers. The dryer is 5' long 6" deep 6" high. it has a 7-9 rpm motor. I timed it at 8 rpm. all the holders have felt material and are all adjustable.These also have a box labeled(rod tying machine parts) which contains various clamps. Templates wood parts and wheels. Description" This was removed from a Action-Rod fishing pole. This is the short version at 35 inches long from end of threads to tip. So I guess the whole set up when put together is considered a four foot fishing pole. As the pics should depict. It's in very good shape. I do not see any scratches or chips or dents on this rod. Just a mild bend from sitting against a wall. I would leave it alone because it's really only noticed when you look down the pole when holding it out and eyeing it. The metal is in very good shape and looks to me to not be chromed except for the loops which are in good shape too. There are very tiny spots of oxidation around where the soldering meets the loop. Vintage rod and reel with copy of patent papers for the rod and reel locking mechanism. The rod is a True Temper with some unique features. It has the patented“Speedlock” fishing-rod handle. This method of attaching the reel to the rod was patented in 1925 with patent number 1534674. I have a copy of the original patent papers and drawings and will include them. The rod itself has a patent number 1755159; issued in 1930. This patent was for a metallic casting fishing rod possessing qualities of strength and flexibility. Rod is made of square steel tapered from handle to tip. Line guides are red glass in a brass support and attached to the rod with wrapped fine copper wire. The tip eye is missing and repairs attempted(see photo) Overall length of the rod is 55” I also have patent papers and drawings for the rod. 6ft Ocean Bamboo Spimming Rod+3 Bamboo Rod Sections guides, seats Parts, Repair
Thanks for looking. I'm cleaning up a bit and getting rid of a few things. I have a 6 foot Ocean Bamboo Rod and three Bamboo fishing rod sections. The Ocean rod needs to have the handle set it is spinning around the shaft and its missing the cap on the front of the handle. Other then that it's ready to fish. Because of the repairs needed I'm selling it all for parts or repair. The section are in overall good shape. Mitchell 302 reel is not included! My sister would kill me. She loves that reel. I just wanted to show it sits well and what size reel works. This would be a great setup for right out here in Puget Sound. Please look at the pictures closely. It is a softcover booklet of 60 pages with illustrations. It shows a bit of tanning on the cover due to age, but inside the book is perfect. How to Wrap a Rod with Gudebrod" was published by Gudebrod Bros. Silk Co in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1975. It has 24 pages with illustrations.
