All of the mechanical and functional aspects are in very good condition and the reel feels and sounds very smooth. There are no bent or warped parts. There are some abrasions and scratches on this item(as shown in pictures) Someone has scratched their initials(NFM" NFFM" and what looks like"VIFF" into 3 interior sections on the reel(not visible when reel is operationally assembled) and 2 exterior areas(where it is mostly visible under the right light) Please refer to the pictures(I have documented these 5 areas) The black paint on the interior of the spool is worn and there are several scratches including one of the initialed areas(refer to photo) The top of the drag adjustment knob has 2 small nicks. The other 2 interior areas where the initials occur are approximately 1 inch from the exposed bearings on both sides of the body of the reel. The interior spool side is where it appears to have the"VIFF" There is also the outline of what appears to be some sticker that has fallen off(located next to the exposed bearings in photo) The final areas are on the exterior front and back face of the reel and I did not notice them until I had the reel under the perfect light(I owned this reel for years without seeing this) Also. There is an abrasion on the frame at the bottom of the reel(next to the bottom post) If you are considering buying this reel then you are most likely a serious angler and or collector so please study ALL pictures very closely with the zoom function. Vintage Hardy Bros leather Fly Box Wallet For sale is a lovely Hardy Bros fly box and cast wallet combo. The aluminium fly box is securely riveted to a lovely leather wallet with parchment cast envelopes. There are some old flies in it. It has been used regularly until recently. The leather is in lovely condition and is supple with no cracks. Popper is fine. Box closes perfectly and is securely fixed to the wallet. Four parchment envelopes with a couple of casts in them. Hardy Bros. 1912 Perfect Limited Edition” leather box. This all leather box, 15” x 7” was sold to those who purchased the three perfects in the Centennial set. It has three baize-lined separate compartments for each reel with small oval brass plaques that label the reels. This box is essentially mint, without a scratch, and it comes with the correct brass key and leather key holder(and a spare key) and the labeled Hardy cloth protective bag. One could put any prized reels in this case– even prized Bogdan’s- that could be then easily transported while on a trip. Stan would have loved that.
