The flies are all snelled wet flies, the flies most commonly used at the time. Most of the flies look to be about size 12 and there is a variety of different flies, with very few that are the same pattern. We count 80 flies but there might be one or two more or less. The handle seems to be a shade lighter than the rest of the case(not sure if replaced or not) Beautiful mahogany color and the brass colored metal hardware has a real nice subtle patina. This has a couple of compartments. On the one end there is a 7' deep well and the other side tapers down to a 2" by 1 1/4" holder(at the other end) This leaves plenty of space for your other accessories in the bottom compartment. There are a couple of marks where it looks like something was wrapped around the case holding the tabs more secure where they connect with the handle. You can see the discoloration in the picture. Beautiful Vintage excellent quality USA MADE tooled leather and sheepskin lined fly case. The case is closed with a rugged Talon brass zipper closure. Very good condition as shown in the photos. The walls of the case are a sturdy 1/4 of an inch in thickness. Sheepskin lining is in excellent condition as you can readily observe from the photos. Very old high quality leather wallet for lures. Full of actual lures. My father says it could be as old as the 1930s. As belonged to my late Grandfather. There is a deterioration and writing. see photos) to the leather inside the wallet- the contains are made of parchment'pages' with pockets. The wallet is filled with a selection of different lures. All appear to be old and hand made. I know very little on this subject, Some are very small, some are large, all have hooks. A nice leather case for a classic fly reel
This is a very nice and clean leather pouch/case for a fly reel. The size is approximately 6" x 4.5" x 3" It has a sheep skin inside for protection of a reel. It has been used but with no scratches or tears. Just a few minor rashes. Overall excellent condition. One of the pictures shows the inside with a St. George 3-3/8" reel. It can hold a reel with a bit larger but a smaller one will also fit snugly. The reel does not come with the reel- sorry. It is not as bulky as some of the Hardy block case. It is a nice travel case for a classic reel without taking much space. Not clear who the maker is but the quality is top notch. Please ask any questions. Vintage Leather Fishing Fly Holder, Wallet, Case, with 20 Flies
Found in Maine. This nice old case is made of leather with sheep’s fur to hold the flies. Laid horizontally, it is 3 1/4 inches tall and 7 1/4 wide. The flies are all streamers, mostly for landlocked salmon, and most of them have second trailing hooks coming off them. Personally, I always start with the woolly bugger. CONDITION: Excellent. Solid and secure. Even the streamers are in good shape. Please look carefully at all the photos. They’re the biggest part part of this description. Shipping within one business day of payment. HUGH GRIEVE ORIGINALS 30" CANVASS & LEATHER FLY ROD CARRY CASE - VERY NICE
What we have here is a very nice fly rod carry case by Hugh Grieve Originals. It is canvass covered and leather bound. All stitching is excellent. The inside of the leather end caps is fleece lined. IT LOOKS ALL ORIGANAL WITH THE LEATHER CARRYING STRAP. THE LEATHER IS ALL GOOD. IT HAS A ALUMINUM TUBE INSIDE THE LEATHER. IT MEASURES 54" LONG. THE WHITE LOOKING RECTANGLES THAT SHOW IN THE PICTURE LOOK LIKE OLD TRAVEL TAG STAINS BUT WHEN YOU RUB YOUR HAND OVER THEM YOU FEEL NOTHING. YOU WOULDN'T KNOW THEY ARE THERE BY FEELING THEM. Common Sense leather fly wallet in very good pre owned condition. There are some scuffs on the outside. And some little spots on the inside. Genuine sheepskin lining, and each piece makes a pocket. Open it is 7 1/2" long and 6 1/8" wide. Closed it is 3" tall. P lease see all the pictures. They are a large part of the description. Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
