Was a friends gandpas, i don't know the age of the split bambo fly rod. the Butt piece is about 38-1/2" the middle section is the same as the butt. One of the tips is 34-1/4 inches& the other tip is 31-1/2 inches. Also has 2 canvas storage socks, one for the tip sections& one holds all pieces including aluminum brass tube tip container, tube about 39 inches. The pieces have not been put together in a long time, i put one piece one a little bit and it was to tight to completely slide on because a grease like protective lubricant has waxed up. so i decided not to put the rest of the rod together& allow the new owner of this rod to clean the fittings& re-lubricate the fittings, Thus i cannot tell you the ... moreassembled length of the rod. i pulled the piece back apart of course& the good popping sound was heard when i seperated them, this is good, it looks to me like all the pieces fitting will clean up nicely& fit snuggly after proper work. I would guess the wallet is from the 1940s or 1950s. The flies are all snelled wet flies, the flies most commonly used at the time. Most of the flies look to be about size 12 and there is a variety of different flies, with very few that are the same pattern. We count 80 flies but there might be one or two more or less. 2 vintage richard wheatley large trout salmon fly fishing silmalloy boxes
for sale here is a pair of large 6" x 3.5" deep wheatley boxes. Ventilation holes prevent wet or dry rot of flies that you store. The case measures approximately 3 3/4” long by 2 5/8” wide by 3/4” deep. Including the flies within, it weighs only 2 ounces. The exterior of the case has some small scratches and abrasions. But the hinge still works perfectly, the case shuts tightly, and the interior looks great. Vintage Leather Fly Fishing Rod Holder Case Leather Fitted double opening ends This is a beautiful vintage leather fly fishing rod holder. It has fitted ends that both open& secure with straps. The handle seems to be a shade lighter than the rest of the case(not sure if replaced or not) Beautiful mahogany color and the brass colored metal hardware has a real nice subtle patina. This has a couple of compartments. On the one end there is a 7' deep well and the other side tapers down to a 2" by 1 1/4" holder(at the other end) This leaves plenty of space for your other accessories in the bottom compartment. There are a couple of marks where it looks like something was wrapped around the case holding the tabs more secure where they connect with the handle. You can see the discoloration in the picture. The entire piece measures ... more28" tall by 6 1/4" by 4" It weighs 5 1/4 pounds. This came from Keuka Lake. It would say it dates anywhere from the 1920's through the 1940's. Tube measures about 47" long x 2 5/8" in diameter. Two old cotton rod bags are included. Tube shows some expected wear and scratching but no dents and rubber end caps are fine. VINTAGE TURNER BROS. 2 PC FIBER TUBE FOR FLY SPIN BAITCAST FISHING RODS - NEAT!
This auction is for a rare early Turner Bros. Telescoping 2-Piece Fishing Rod Tube complete with Locking Metal Push Button Cap and Original Paper Label in excellent condition. I believe this one dates to the 1930’s-1940’s and is constructed of a hard fiber material with metal caps on both ends. Has a brown/ maroon color, the paper tag reads“Turner Bros. Wellington Ohio Fine Protection For Fishing Rods” measures approximately 49” long when completely closed, the short section measures 2 ¼” outside diameter and the long section measures 2” outside diameter, when completely opened it extends to approximately 76” long before the two pieces separate and it actually creates a vacuum as you close so you can adjust length. This is a great early fishing collectible a neat one to protect your vintage bamboo fly, spinning or bait cast rods. EXCEPTIONAL VINTAGE FINELY TOOLED LEATHER AND SHEEPSKIN FLY FISHING LURE CASE
Vintage superlative quality USA MADE tooled leather and sheepskin lined fly fishing case with Talon brass zipper closure. Very good condition with the exception of a few nicks on the front cover(see close-up photo) and an indentation with a small cut on one of the corners(see close-up photo) The walls of the case are a sturdy 1/4 of an inch in thickness. Sheepskin lining is in excellent blemish free condition as you can readily observe from the photos. This case is such a beautiful work of art that it should belong in a fly fishing museum. You can search the World Wide Web you will never find a comparable to this one. External dimensions are approximately 7-3/4 inches long by 4-1/8 inches wide by 1-3/8 inches deep.
