2 vintage richard wheatley large trout salmon fly fishing silmalloy boxes
for sale here is a pair of large 6" x 3.5" deep wheatley boxes. One is a 4 sided clip in good condition, theres 4 holes drilled on the hinge, dont know why, they dont seem to serve any purpose(3rd foto) the next one is a foam 4 sided, overall good undamaged but the foam could do with being glued down a bit. anyway please look at the fotos, i dont have the time to send out individual dispatch emails but items are normally posted the day after being paid for, i will post anywhere insured and recorded, and please view my other many listings of vintage items this week.thanks for looking.and i do eventually get round to leaving feedback once they build up to about 300 i do them all at once.

It is in used condition with some usage tarnishing/marking of the alloy(see clear picture to decide before bidding) It is stamped with the makers details Wheatley and Silmalloy and looks to be an early one. It is a clipped lid one with space for casts and then sectio ns for smaller and larger flies. It is fully working and folds well and contains assorted vintage and modern used and unused flies. Some large salmon flies, some small assorted trout. These are not often seen for sale and highly collectable. Vintage Fly box hold 238 flies could be RICHARD WHEATLEY FLY BOX
Vintage Aluminum/metal Fly Box 6" x 3.5" x 1" Holds 238 Flys 70 on each outside panel and 49 on each inside panel. The are no marking that say who made the box or where it was made that I could find. It looks like the box could be a RICHARD WHEATLEY FLY BOX? It is very well build and closes solidly. Notes on the condition: The brown paint on the exterior of the case is chipped and scratched with some minor rust spots. a few of the fly retention clips are slightly'sprung' and may need to be bent pack into place with some small needle nose pliers or hemostats. Vintage Black Richard Wheatley Fly Box 18 Compartment
This black finish Richard Wheatley 18 compartment fly box is 1980’s vintage. It is used but in great shape and is packed with dry flies mostly on size 12 or 10 hooks. The flies are hand tied and are all great producers. Great addition to the dry fisherman’s fly collection. I will throw in a few Knotless tapered leaders with the purchase.
