Not knowing much about this type of collection I will show lots of pictures for y ou to view. I see there are six nice looking OLD FLIES. They feel almost real. They look to be ma de very strong. The feathers and body feel real they each have a hook on them. The Leather P ouch has some nice old tooling on the ou tside and has two leather pockets on the ins ide on each end. For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this vintage tooled leather fly wallet. It is a classic. With the felt leaves for holding your flies. Right out of an old Denver estate, this is as found. I would guess the wallet is from the 1940s or 1950s. The flies are all snelled wet flies, the flies most commonly used at the time. Most of the flies look to be about size 12 and there is a variety of different flies, with very few that are the same pattern. We count 80 flies but there might be one or two more or less. Vintage Leather Fly Fishing Rod Holder Case Leather Fitted double opening ends This is a beautiful vintage leather fly fishing rod holder. It has fitted ends that both open& secure with straps. The handle seems to be a shade lighter than the rest of the case(not sure if replaced or not) Beautiful mahogany color and the brass colored metal hardware has a real nice subtle patina. This has a couple of compartments. On the one end there is a 7' deep well and the other side tapers down to a 2" by 1 1/4" holder(at the other end) This leaves plenty of space for your other accessories in the bottom compartment. There are a couple of marks where it looks like something was wrapped around the case holding the tabs more secure where they connect with the handle. You can see the discoloration in the picture. The entire piece measures ... more28" tall by 6 1/4" by 4" It weighs 5 1/4 pounds. This came from Keuka Lake. It would say it dates anywhere from the 1920's through the 1940's. Very old high quality leather wallet for lures. Full of actual lures. My father says it could be as old as the 1930s. As belonged to my late Grandfather. There is a deterioration and writing. see photos) to the leather inside the wallet- the contains are made of parchment'pages' with pockets. The wallet is filled with a selection of different lures. All appear to be old and hand made. I know very little on this subject, Some are very small, some are large, all have hooks. I counted appr. 30 lures, but it seems the exact amount is actually higher. Also there are a few tools for tieing. This is absolutely a must for all serious fishing tackle or sports collector!

Vintage Leather Fishing Fly Holder, Wallet, Case, with 20 Flies
Found in Maine. This nice old case is made of leather with sheep’s fur to hold the flies. Laid horizontally, it is 3 1/4 inches tall and 7 1/4 wide. The flies are all streamers, mostly for landlocked salmon, and most of them have second trailing hooks coming off them. Personally, I always start with the woolly bugger. CONDITION: Excellent. VERY NICE VINTAGE I BELIEVE LEATHER FLY ROD CASE. THE MAN I BOUGHT IT FROM CLAIMED IT IS ORVIS BUT I CAN'T FIND A NAME ANYWHERE. IT IS IN GREAT SHAPE WITH NORMAL WEAR FOR IT'S AGE. IT LOOKS ALL ORIGANAL WITH THE LEATHER CARRYING STRAP. THE LEATHER IS ALL GOOD. IT HAS A ALUMINUM TUBE INSIDE THE LEATHER. IT MEASURES 54" LONG. THE WHITE LOOKING RECTANGLES THAT SHOW IN THE PICTURE LOOK LIKE OLD TRAVEL TAG STAINS BUT WHEN YOU RUB YOUR HAND OVER THEM YOU FEEL NOTHING. YOU WOULDN'T KNOW THEY ARE THERE BY FEELING THEM.
