Serial number R17774(just above the grip) means this was a factory made rod. Comes with the original partitioned bag, thick walled aluminum tube, and warranty registration card. This rod has a well regarded medium fast action with more flex and"feel" than many modern rods. Interesting taper- rated for a 4 and it cast smoothly for me with 3. 4, and 5 weight lines- had to wait a little longer on the backcast for the rod to load with the 3 weight line. Just their rod socks. each PVC tube is lined with nylon fabric,and could hold 2 rods without the rod socks,making the travel case capacity up to 6 rods, however I recommend using the rods sock for protection from interior rubbing of blanks and guide hardware. useable interior length is 42" long so will hold any 3 piece or 4 piece rods, where the sections are 42"or less. Exterior is very durable forest green nylon cordura cloth. The handle, and shoulder strap, are all cordura in black. End cap is zippered with a YKK metal and plastic zipper, the other end cap is black leather. travel case is in very good condition. Sage Fly Rod Tube and Bag -- 8-1/2 Foot 4 Piece -- Good Condition
Doing some closet cleaning and found this tube/bag not being used to hold any of my rods. It is a Sage Fly Rod Tube and Bag. There is one small split/hole in bag near top seam so I rate this condition as Good. If not for the small split would be Excellent. Tube measures about 30-1/2 inches and will hold up to 8-1/2 ft Sage fly rod. Bag is also for 8-1/2 ft Sage fly rod. I test fit one of my Sage 9 ft 4-piece rods and both tube and bag were about 1 inch too short. So should be perfect for an 8-1/2 ft 4-piece Sage rod. There is some residue from a sticker on top of cap which should clean off easily enough. Shipping is a flat rate $12 for Priority Mail shipped in a heavy duty cardboard mailing tube for security. Scrub the cork surface with a dish duty ScotchBrite pad that you have added a bit of dish washing liquid on it. You will be amazed how the cork finish comes back. I do it to all of my rods with cork grips and they stay looking near new. 2) If you loose cork filler(causing craters) Not much can be done except get cork filler powder and any other of the suggested items from Mud Hole(Look them up on the Net) and follow instructions. 3) To make that rod shine a bit. Rub it well with a simple application of"Pledge" spray wax, or apply a coat of paste wax like"Bartenders Friend" and buff your rod bright. PLEASE NOTE: I try to set a fixed price which I feel is fair and reasonable. This is a retirement/hobby business. But a business none the less.
