Up for auction are a pair of used Big Jon manual downriggers with counters. Rodholders and Big Jon releases at ball or weight. I have been doing some spring cleaning and no longer have a use for these. There is also stainless steel cable on each one, I am not sure of the amount. They are a little dusty as these have been in storage for years. I went to electric riggers. I measured the boom and it is approx. 2 feet in length. Rod holders are 10 1/2 inches in length. PENN DOWNRIGGER MODEL 600 WITH ROD HOLDER SHOP CLEANED AND SERVICED While cleaning out the garage last week I found a lot of interesting items that I thought some of you would enjoy or need more than I do at the moment. This listing is for a PENN 600 FATHOM-MASTER DOWNRIGGER with a rod holder attached. The boom is 24 inches long. Penn Fathom-Master downriggers have earned a reputation for solid. Dependable performance in both fresh and salt water. Whether it's getting down for salmon, steelhead and lake trout, lowering the boom on walleye and striped bass, or descending for deep running bluefish, king mackerel or tuna, no angling task is too tough for a Fathom-Master. Penn's exclusive Fathom-Master drag system allows one hand operation when lowering or stopping the downrigger weight. Drag system lets cable play out if the weight snags ... moreon the bottom. Crank handle does not turn while the weight descends. Fathom-Master downriggers come pre-installed with Penn's easy-to-rig Tru-Trac cable hardware- simple to remove and re-install without crimping tools. This downrigger is used but I sent it to my repair shop to have them go thru it and clean it up and lube it so it would be ready to fish. Everything functions as it should. There is a lot of line on the spool. Looks like twice as much as normal. The swivel clip on the end of the wire is new as well. The unit shows normal wear, no problems that I can see. The small piece of white tape that marks the line counter is starting to come off on one end and some discoloration on the red crank handle. The downrigger does not come with a mount however I will list a few mounts separately as well as an assortment of balls and ball holders. This downrigger is ready to fish! There is a decal on the side as you see in pictures 3& 5. That shows. Big Jon Inc, ph.616-223-4342. As you see in the pictures it has a rod holder, the boom is about 4ft and is fiberglass, it has a line counter as you see in picture 5 and line. The reel has a adjustable knob on the side as you see in picture 2, so you can set how fast the weight will drop or speed of the reel turn, it has a knob on the other side as you see in picture 5(upper left knob) push in to stop the reel from turning or pull out to turn the reel. Good Used Walker Electric Downrigger-2 Ft Boom, Counter, Line & Dual Rod Holder
It’s been used and works just fine. I tested on a 12 Volt battery on a bench without a cannon ball and it runs fine in both directions. It comes with a 2 ft. adjustable boom. Twisted wire line(I believe it’s stainless) and dual adjustable rod holder. Note that someone dropped some crud onto it and it looks more like a slag. Maybe debris from cutting with a torch nearby. Actually, it looks like a plastic type slag. I’m sure that you can chip the slag off pretty easily. I was able to pull chunks off with my fingers. It also has a counter and it seemed to work fine when operating it but it’s at 964 when it should be at 0. Maybe you can re-set that. New counters are available at a reasonable price. It does not have a swivel base. The unit has some soil. Scuff marks and drippings of some more slag. I was able to chip a lot of that slag off but ... morea better job needs to be done. I also see a couple of tiny spots of slag on the stainless line and spool. I consider that to be insignificant. I don’t know what else to say other than I am sure that this will give you many seasons of good service even though it looks somewhat grubby in spots. Shipping weight is 15 lbs. Please see shipping calculator for actual postage cost for US sales. I guarantee you that if you are overcharged by $2 or more for shipping. I will refund that amount to you. Wire Line that is on the Spool has some rust on it as the Downrigger has sat in the Garage for awhile. Should clean up fine if you don't want to replace. Reel works fine.
