This was on our older manual Cannon Downrigger that had a slide base but im sure you can drill new holes and use it for Big-Jon or Walker downriggers as well. It is a good base. Pictures 1& 2 shows the top(wider than the bottom) about 4 5/8" x 5" and the bottom about 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" This is about 1 5/8" tall and the release lever is push down to release. Vintage Finn Trolling Downrigger Boards, Skis, Planer Boards 40"
I have for sale on“Bids” or) a“Buy Now” a Nice Set of"Finn Downrigger Trolling Skis. These are 40" long and I will explain how they work. The skis trail off to the sides. One left and one right. A 1 lb. or 2 lb. weight is let down to the desired depth, we will say 100' Every 20' on the verticle line is a three way or two crimps. Your spoons are hooked at each 20' crimp sleeves and trail back whatever you like. I do 30' on a Mono line. The crimps keep the bait from sliding down the verticle line. As you are letting the weight down you are adding baits. Depending on the depth you can add as many as you like. When the baits are down you set the ski to your heavy line and let it go. It trails out to the side at whatever distance you desire. You can set more than one ski per side. When a fish hits the bait it trips the ... moreski and it falls back behind the boat. You pull the ski up to the boat by hand and unclip the downrigger line and hook it back to your heavy rod and wind up until you get to the line with the fish,unclip this line from the verticle line and hook it to your light pole to reel your fish in. The empty lines are hooked to side of the boat and are left trailing until you reset them. `This is really a setup for a charter boat but I have used it and caught many fish, also some multiples. I used it for lake trout, but it could be used for other species. The name of my boat was the"Kingfisher" thus the name on the skis. I have a box of spoons already set up with the leaders attached. Vintage Used Downrigger Down Rigger Fishing Pole Accessory for Boat
Sorry Guys but I Am Not a Fisherman and I Don't Know A Lot about These Downrigger's but I Am Mechanically Inclined so Please Let Me Describe to You What I See about This Downrigger. First of All. Please Look at the Condition of the Paint. It Is in Need of a Paint Job. I Find This Downrigger to Be Working Quite Nicely. I Am Having an Issue with the Depth Counter. I Really Don't Know How to Reset It and Hate to Poke and Prod and Break Something so I Just Never Messed with the Depth Counter and I Am Unsure If It Is Working or Not. If this is important to you, please tell me how to reset it and I will post any comment to let you know what I find. No matter what it is as is. The wheel functions very sweetly, it has a break on it that seems to be working nicely. The poll is made out of fiberglass and looks good. You can take the poll ... moreoff of the frame. I think this would be a nice little downrigger for a small boat. I hope you can get the counter working but sorry the depth counter is as is as found. Other than that, it is working fine. I did not examine the cable. When I found this in my grandfather's work room. It was twisted up a bit. I saw a small kink on the cable. I don't think it will affect the operation of the tool but I did see a small kink about 3 feet up from the end. I did not examine the rest of the cable. It was wound tightly and should be okay but again I never examined and it is as is. The most important way to analyze what you will receive is to carefully look at all the pictures and read my description carefully. The pictures and my description are very accurate. You are bidding on the Riviera base that is pictured in the photos. This is an estate sale find from upstate NY. Base is in excellent condition. There is a slight nick on the underside by one of the middle screw holes. See pictures. I do not feel it would affect the performance of the base in any way. Base measures 5 inches by 4 inches.

I have an exceptionally nice vintage cast aluminum with fiberglass down rod for your consideration. This downrigger is in reusable condition other than the depth gauge is loose and does not seem to work. I suppose it is fixable if you want to reuse as intended. I view it as a fabulous repurpose display equipment hardware with a nice flat surface mount platform and BIG JON cast into the aluminum wheel. All solid cast aluminum with a vintage fiberglass down rod. Item will be broken down to save on shipping costs. Questions welcome other wise what you see is what you get.
