Up for grabs is a pair of Cannon high profile swivel mounting bases. With attached mounts for Uni-Troll 5,10, HP and Marlin Electric HP downriggers. These are the newer style with a lexan base. And aluminum mounting surface, so they are lighter weight and more durable. They work very smooth and with a coat of paint on the aluminum parts they will look new! I did not go out of my way to try to remove the Uni-Troll mounting bases from these. As I did not want to damage anything. Upgraded to the newest style. 2007+ spools! This is the only pair on eBay with this done! Although many think(or claim) there is no difference between Cannon Uni-Troll HP. And the newer Uni-Troll 10(made after the Johnson Outdoors buyout) THAT IS WRONG! Cannon made significant changes to the spool ... moredesign to solve a long standing problem. The Uni-Troll HP spool was a three piece unit. With a thin and brittle spool, and two"half moon" shaped filler inserts. The inserts screwed into the base spool to effectively make the spool larger and increase retrieve speed. Unfortunately this design was flawed in many ways, as the spools frequently flex and crack, and the cable gets stuck and tangled between the filler inserts. If the spool fails while a weight is in the water, you can say goodbye to it, as well as your fishing trip for the day. Often times they do not give any kind of warning signs, and the only way to tell whats going on is to un-spool the cable, remove the inserts and inspect it. One of the spools on even this well-maintained pair completely came apart, and after inspection, the other had started to separate as well.this is a very common thing. Needless to say both spools have been changed to the new style. And for a graphic explanation, please review the last photo in the listing. Up for grabs a pair of two Cannon Uni-Troll HP downriggers. With 24" heavy duty booms and rod holders! Standard mounting bases also included! MADE IN THE USA! These downriggers have high speed retrieve and one hand clutch for easy operation! They each are spooled with a pretty good amount of PowerPro braid. I couldn't tell you how much, but it should be more than enough to get you started. Thing I like about using braid is it reduces blowback by a considerable amount, and you can even use a lighter weight to go the same depth! These units were previously used in saltwater. But have been throughly gone over.cleaned, lubed and anything suspect was replaced. Rod holder brackets were repainted with Rustoleum and everything looks nice for used equipment! One has a minor stress crack near the boom screw on the frame. This happens to about ... more50% of the ones I have seen including the Uni-Trolls I bought new and used on my own vessel. Crack is shown in photo and does not jeopardize the integrity of the boom. Boom slides in well past the ball storage hook so the load is not on that crack. Overall they are nice used downriggers! These have the upgraded 2007+ 1pc. line spools. Which are much more durable and better suited to a wider range of lines. It is easy to spot the older series spools because they are half the thickness of these and tend to split apart and rub the downrigger frame! These won't ever do that!
