Per Wikipedia: A downrigger is a device used while fishing using the trolling method. Which places a lure at the desired depth. A downrigger consists of a three to six-foot horizontal pole which supports a cannonball(large weight) by a steel cable(generally stainless steel) A clip, also known as a"release" attaches a fishing line to the cannonball weight. The bait or lure is attached to the release. Please be sure to see the other sporting goods we have listed. FEATURES: This pair of downriggers was custom-made in a machine shop in Antioch. Illinois. They are very heavy-duty. The base plates and uprights are made of aluminum alloy. The base plates are 3/8" thick and the ... moreuprights are 1" thick. The 10" diameter crank pulleys are made of galvanized die-cast zinc. The pulleys are locked into place and released by a sliding 5/8" bolt. A 1/4" round 2" long stud is mounted onto the pulley providing a cranking mechanism. The 3' extension rods are made of cold-rolled steel. The smaller pulleys at the tips are made of high-density nylon. The pulley brackets swivel and are held in place with snap-ring closures. Both downriggers can be easily disassembled and any piece could be re-made at any machine shop. I am not sure what the tensile strength of the twisted stainless steel cable/wire is, but it is a substantial size. Both cables have a spring-clip for attaching the line to your weight. Also, there are three mounting holes on the outside surface of the uprights. They are in a triangular pattern. Whatever mounts to these holes is not included. Please read my listing thoroughly and view all of my PHOTOS: Here is a Canadian made Scotty downrigger that came from an estate-I don't know anything about downriggers so I posted lots of photos for you to examine. The boom is about 23.5" from end to end(see photo) The unit appears to be in good condition. It has a few very light spots of rust here and there, looks like minor surface rust, nothing major at all. I assume the line needs to be replaced, it has rust and discoloration on it(see photo) All photos are of the actual items I am selling here. Only what is shown in the photos is included in this sale. Scotty Heavy Duty Manual Downrigger Strongarm 30" 1085 Depthmaster Depthking
This downrigger is in very good used condition. There is some very light rust in a few places on the rod. There is some cable included. There is a little rust on the cable(see photos) There is no attachment for the end of the cable. There is no rod holder or anything else included that's not in the photos. I think it's a Strongarm 1085 model. But. I am not totally sure about that. Please email me with any questions. Shipping is based on where you live.

Set of two (2) Stainless Steel, Heavy Duty, boat rod holder, outrigger style
This pair of Stainless Steel rod holders are made of a super high grade thick stainless steel tubing for trolling big game fish such as wahoo. Tuna or Mahi Mahi. Heliarc welded and made to last many lifetimes these holders are rare and hard to find in this quality. I have fished these rod holders sporadically for over 20 years and they work great. They each have a welded piece of thick stainless steel with a drilled hole as a place to attach a safety line should you have a strike that causes a rod butt to break. These are made to lock into your boats existing upright rod holders gimble. Measurements: These holders measure 22" tall the actual cylinder is 14" long and there is a high quality stainless screw with stainless nut and lock washer for a gimbal to help keep the rod stationary and stop it from spinning or falling out of the ... moreholder. The diameter of the tubing is 2" to accommodate the largest rod butts. Used for trolling to keep your lines apart as spreaders this allow you to troll more lines. These are not some cheap mass produced aluminum holders. These are hand made in machine shop of durable high grade stainless. I would suggest taking the time to attach safety lines to your rod holders with quick release clips that attach to the reel to prevent losing a rod and reel should your rodbutt break from a hard strike.
