Here are a set of WORKING Big Jon electric downriggers. They have a longer boom. You can see the total length of the entire downrigger in one of the pictures. I recently purchased a boat that these were mounted on so I don't know much about them. I did connect a 12lb. cannon ball to each rigger and hit the switch up and down a few times. The motors are strong and worked like they should. One of them looks like it may have been worked on by the mounting base due to some ding marks in the picture. The springs on the line counters look fairly new as does the big swivels at the boom tips. One rigger has the normal steel cable and the other has a coated cable which I believe would be for a depth/temp sensor unit. There also was a Big Jon auto stop on the boat but was not attached to either rigger. I'll throw that in too. These are not ... morenew downriggers. They have some scratches. Dings, and everything is not"like new" perfect but they work as they should to my and the previous owner's knowledge. On Feb-27-13 at 08:32:13 PST. Up for auction are a pair of used Big Jon manual downriggers with counters. Rodholders and Big Jon releases at ball or weight. I have been doing some spring cleaning and no longer have a use for these. There is also stainless steel cable on each one, I am not sure of the amount. They are a little dusty as these have been in storage for years. I went to electric riggers. I measured the boom and it is approx. 2 feet in length. Rod holders are 10 1/2 inches in length. Big Jon 48 inch Boom Downrigger
Big Jon long arm downrigger. 48 inch boom with line counter. No mounting base and is missing crank-up handle. This model has the"brake" system on it, meaning about a half crank backward and the weight drops. Unit does pivot so booms are straight up when not using them. There is a single Big Jon rod holder on it. Was used on Lake Michigan and other fresh water lakes. It does need the handle so I can't test it to see if still fully functional. No warranties and sold as-is. Nothing visibly broken anywhere on unit. Good rigger to re-furbish or use for parts. I charge actual shipping only. If shipping is less than shown. For bid is this used Big Jon Manual Downrigger w/ 4ft boom Rod-Holder Line& Counter for fishin fish. The reel is cast aluminum and is marked in the casting. Big Jon. in the middle spoke area. There is a decal on the side as you see in pictures 3& 5. That shows. Big Jon Inc, ph.616-223-4342. As you see in the pictures it has a rod holder, the boom is about 4ft and is fiberglass, it has a line counter as you see in picture 5 and line. The reel has a adjustable knob on the side as you see in picture 2, so you can set how fast the weight will drop or speed of the reel turn, it has a knob on the other side as you see in picture 5(upper left knob) push in to stop the reel from turning or pull out to turn the reel. In picture 6 you can see it flips up and locks by a knob on the side as you see in picture 5(lower knob) good to have when you ... moretrailer your boat for travel. This does have some scruf/scratches from use, on the rod holder has paint chipping. As you can see from the pictures this is in good condition except for what is mentioned above about the scuf/scratches and some paint chipping on the rod holder, this would be good to have for your fishing seasons.
