Lot of ( 26 ) Vintage Planer Board Releases Brass and Wire
Up for auction is a lot of( 26) planer board releases made of brass and wire. I have had these for many years not sure of the maker but these work great for walleye. Trout and salmon. I have trolled body baits and spoons from these with great success. Some are in like new condition while others have some use on them. Just twist the brass thumb screw to increase or decrease tension. When fish hits the lure they slide down towards the board very easy. Some of the newer releases seem bulky and lightweight and do not slide as easily. With the small diameter wire and the heavier brass they slide freely. See photo. 15 Offshore Cannon Ball Downrigger Planer Board Line Releases Walleye Trolling
Up for bid is a mid sized lot of pinch clip line releases. There are 15 releases with some attached loops and rings. I listed them as used as I got them at an estate sale but I believe these have never been used judging by their condition. They may have been around a while as a few show a little rust. I have very little knowledge of downrigger or planer board trolling so my description is based on a little experience. There appear to be two types. Most(14)are marked marked"Laurvick 715-394-767" The other is marked"Mueller Elect.Both types have black pads. I do not know whether they are light.Medium or heavy release but I squeezed all of them and they did open. I do not think they are adjustable release. I do know these are used for downrigger and planer board trolling in the Great Lakes for Walleye.I would expect they also ... morewould have a salt water use as well.
