Simms Guide Stocking foot Waders LS
Up for auction is my used Simms Guide stocking foot waders. The size is large short. The first time I put these waders on to do some Salmon fishing. I sat down on a folding lawn chair on the porch at a lodge overlooking the MSW Miramichi River. As I sat down I heard a scraping noise. When I checked, a sharp burr on the chair's aluminum frame sliced a 1" cut in the backside, just below the belt line(see pictures) The waders were subsequently repaired, you can hardly notice the cut and I have used them since then with absolutely no problem. This has old line wound around the pegs. As shown, the manufacturer's name is stamped into the metal arm. This appears to be in excellent used condition with minor cosmetic issues where some paint has worn off. This is one of a number of estate fly fishing pieces I recently acquired which came from the Estate of Arthur Milliken who was Headmaster of the Westminster School in Simsbury. CT from 1936 to 1956. Although the whole family apparently fished, many of the items in this estate lot were actually used by Mr. Milliken's mother who was an early and avid fly fisher, with some of her items dating to the very early 1900's.
