This is an authentic. Vintage 1920s BLACK CREPE FLAPPER DRESS WITH FRINGE on the top and bottom. It is a unique design in that the dress is actually sleeveless. But with the fringe collar applied around the back and over the shoulders, it provides the benefit of movement with the modesty of the era, and can easily be used for evening or daytime dress. The dress measures 35" from the underarm to the hem. 15" from the top of the back pleat to the hem, 42" from the front neck to the hem, 30" around the top part of the dress, 40" around the lower part of the dress and has three rows of fringe top and bottom. DISCLOSURE: The dress has a snap closure at the back of the neck– two snaps are missing It also has 4 covered buttons on one side and 5 covered buttons on the other side of the collar which are decorative only(non-functional& ... morewithout button holes) Since there are no button holes. 1900's Turn of the Century Black Taffeta Overcoat tapered bell cuffed sleeves
This is an authentic turn of the century BLACK TAFFETA OVER COAT with warm inner lining which appears to be flannel and is covered with another inner lining. The collar is black velvet and it has tapered bell sleeves with shoulder gathering and wide cuffs. The coat is a true black color. However, I used a halogen lamp for the close-up photos which tended to wash out the true black color. The design features a modified ruffle from the lapels, down the front and around the back to give it a cut-away look, suitable for wear over a full skirt. Please see the photos to determine for yourself the condition issues which are typical of fabric which is over 100 years old and include a split in the taffeta at the back neckline which can easily be repaired with iron on tape. And wear around the cuffs, which was hidden by refolding of the sleeve cuffs ... moreby the former owner, as well as some inner lining seam separation. The front closure consists of two loops. Which are in need of a knotted button. The measurements are as follows: 43" neck to hem in back 5" neck to sleeve 22" top of sleeve to tapered bell cuff 29" waist. The coat would be an excellent addition to any vintage clothing collection. Or could be used in the theater in productions of Les Miser e bles or Pygmalion. To name a few. NOTE: I am not a professional grader but I will do my best to accurately describe the comics I am selling using the Comic grading scale as I under stand it. I will do my best to not over state conditions and keep it on the conservative side. You are viewing; My 2nd Secret Wars#8 1st ap pearance of Spidey's b la ck co s tume auct ion. DESCRIPTION: T his is a very nice comic over all. I b ought it in a Comic shop in 1984(along with another that I just sold) put it in a bag and there it has sat until today. The pa ges are white. The coloring great. The cover is nice and clean and the book sits flat. The back left, bottom corner has about an inch long diagonal line. It's not a fold or really a crease. I don't know how to descri be it. It was created somehow other than if someone intentionally creased it or it got bent while storing ... moreit. I say this because the corner wants to sit flat not bend like it would if it had been bent then creased. I had this on the other one I sold. You can see it in the 6th pic ture. It is slightly more visible in reaI life. Not much though. I tried taking a bunch of pics but these back covers tend to be really hard to capture. If it wasn't for that I'd give the book a low Very Fine( hovering right on the line between Fine a nd Very) I think this one looks better than the last one I sold but I am being even more conservative this time in my estimat e. There are a lot of b ig pictures so please study them. They should be clear and big enough to get a more accurate idea of what you could win if you are interested. They will show more than I can describe. If you bid in the last auction and missed out here's another chance. NOTE: The book seems to catch a lot of sh ine. If there's a spo t in a pic where the color looks faded or worn it is light shine. There's no spots where the book has lost color. No worries.
