Vintage Shy Poke Shypoke Glas Casting Rod Handle Hard Rubber Cork Fishing Nice
Really hard to find Shy Poke Glas rod handle. Unusual design with dark green hard rubber grip impregnated with tiny pieces of cork. Overall excellent condition with clean diamond knurled nut as well as rod attachment piece. Clean aluminum and clear/easy to read SHY POKE GLAS inscribed into the area where the reel foot mates with rod. The only minor take aways are a small shrinkage crack(hard to see) in the hard rubber grip as well as minor scrape on the end butt. It seems to be working properly. The rod is marked Mohawk, unsure if reel is the same or an added on piece. It does seem to fit on nicely at least. The cork is falling apart and some of it is missing. Rod same issues as reel. Has a fly tied on the end. The rod is likely missing a extension as it is very short with a hole on front where the piece would go in. Overall length is about 19-5/8th"s.

The length is just under 5 feet long. The line guides are made of some type of Red color plastic or glass. This old steel fishing rod is neat and in used condition. I AM SAYING THE ROD IS MINT SINCE IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS NEVER BEEN USED; I CAN’T FIND ANY SIGNS THAT IT HAS BEEN USED. The triangle tube does show some age as it has some faded areas and one area shows some roughness to the finish like there had been an identification tape label on the tube at one time. Label on the rod tube has is also worn some and original owner has written his name in the white area of the tube at both ends. The tube’s cap is no longer connected by the plastic type hinge that holds it to the tube when open. But the cap is tight and works great. It is in very good little fished condition(see clear picture to decide before bidding) It is a nice unusual ice fishing rod and is really well made with nice clean cork handle and good metal fittings. It extends to almost twice it's length when the fibre glass section is taken out and locked. No maker name that I can see. Rarely seen for sale and nice grade for the collection. Here is a old vintage fiberglass FLY fishing rod. Very nice Near mint condition. With a metal storage tube. Marked with lots of writing including"Horrocks Ibbotson" Power Glass" No 130 in" No 1257 3/4" Utica NY Made in USA" Genuine Foulproof Guides" Crown Quality Custom Deluxe" All writing is clear and easy to read. There are 2 sections total length is about 91 inches. All 7 line guides are good and securely mounted. The handle is cork and is in extra nice condition for this material. The handle butt cap is present. Both reel seat clamps are good. I see no serious damage nor repairs. This rod is near mint condition. Probably as nice as you could find on an old rod like this. Here is a old vintage steel fishing rod. Marked"Bristol" on the reel seat. There are 4 sections total and 3 of the sections extend out and self-store in each other. Length when closed is about 39 inches. The overall extended length is about 102 inches(about 8 1/2 feet) Some wear to the paint. 3 of the line guides are good and securely mounted. The 3rd line guide from the top is a bit loose. The base section rod itself is 6 sided(hexagon) The handle is cork and is in nice condition for this material. It has just a little chipping at the base. The metal handle butt cap is present. Both reel seat clamps are good(aluminum ring and iron theaded round nut) Main stem of handle is aluminum I see no serious damage nor repairs. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. Some wear from handling and use but overall ... morequite nice condition. I do not know how old it is but it is vintage. Vintage Ice Fishing Steel Rod Reel Shakespeare 1950 ED Direct Drive Cork Handle. This is a nice custom setup. The rod is actually a full length round steel rod that has been shortened for ice fishing. The rod has a cork handle and a very unique knurled circular clamp for the means of clamping the reel down to the solid aluminum mount. The reel is a Shakespeare Direct Drive 1950 ED and is in excellent condition. No missing screws and it cranks nicely. It has some neat multi-color nylon line on it.
