Vintage Split Bamboo Expert Fly Rod W/ 2 Tips 9' Long W/ Cork Handle
Vintage 4 piece split bamboo fly fishing rod with EXPERT marked on the reel ring that holds the reel to the rod. There are 9 wire eyes on the rod. Thread colors are red and black. There are two tips for the end. The rod holder is square with cloth covering it with dried leather on one end and metal on the other. It had a leather strap on it to hold the rods. But it is broken. Rod is in good shape and threads to the eyes remain intact. It is a nice rod. The tip is 36 3/4" long, second tip is 36 3/4" long, center is 37" long, and the handle is 37" long. All fit in the rod holder snuggly as they where made too. There are no cracked or split bamboo. Both rod tip do have some very light corrosion noted to them. Vintage Four Piece Antique 1903 C Farlow Bamboo Cork Handle Pike Fishing Rod #2
Vintage C Farlow Bamboo Fishing Rod C. Farlow& Co. Maker 191 Strand London I am not an expert. So will describe this fishing rod as best I can. It is marked on the metal plaque above the handle as above, and the bag also has a hand written note marked"Corked Handle Pike Rod No 2, 1903" There is a word that I can't read above Corked. The inside of the bag is marked"H. Lovatt 2. The rod appears to be in good condition with no broken parts. All the ends are straight and it fits well together. There is a metal loop that slides up and down freely, but it looks like it was always that way. In the photos it's the third piece of metal up from the cork knob. The glossy top coat on the bamboo is a bit worn in spots, as you would expect from something this old, but the bamboo itself is strong and smooth and has no cracks or ... moredamage that I can see. Most of the glossy finish is intact and looks and feels very nice. One of the wraps is pink, so I assume it's been replaced, but i'm not an expert. The others look original. The handle knob looks good, but I've taken a few closeups, as there is bit of wear and a bit of crazing cracks, but they don't seem to actually be real cracks in the handle. The bag is also in good condition. If I can answer any questions. Or you see any errors in this listing, please let me know. In order from thickest to thinnest. I am selling a used vintage bamboo fly rod( I believe it is from the late 40's or 50's) Includes two different tips. It is a three piece rod( with two different tips) and measures 12.8 feet or 12.6 feet depending on the final end chosen. I picked this up at an estate sale along with other vintage items. Over all condition is very fine- eyelets are still original and fastened tight. Please ask any question and I will answer to the best of my ability. This would make an excellent display piece, or use in the water. Vintage Majestic Bamboo Fly Rod - Three Piece with Cork Handle
This is a old"Majestic" three piece bamboo fly rod with a cork handle. I really do not know much about this brand or the age but it looks to be in decent shape with no major issues. The Rod itself is 80" long with the top section being 26" and the other two sections 27" each. The guides and wrapping look good and the cork handle has some scuffs. But is really not too bad. The biggest thing I see is that the top section is not exactly straight, now having a slight bend to the left, and it is a tight fit for the first and second sections of rod(I did not want to"grease" them but think this would help) Over all, not perfect, but not too bad. Conolon Live Fiber (does not say Garcia) Spinning Fishing Rod - Cork Handle
You are bidding on a Conolon Live Fiber(does not say Garcia) Spinning Fishing Rod with a very nice appearance for the vintage as you can see. The rod comes in two equal length pieces and when assembled measures 6 1/2 Ft. long. It comes with 5 nice wraps and guides. A nice connecting ferrule, a nice reel seat and cork handle. The only negative thing is that the plastic ring on the reel seat(screw ring to tighten lower reel foot clamp to upper reel foot clamp is missing as it had been cracked. This will not prevent you from putting your reel on the rod as you can insert the reel feet under the two clamps and then tape the bottom clamp to hold it in place. However, if you know how to remove the lower cork from the rod, you can slip a new screw ring onto the reel seat area and fix the rod correctly. I do have an extra plastic screw ring available ... moreand shown in one of the pictures that I will send with the rod for the winner. Since this extra screw ring came from another rod, I am not sure it will fit this rods reel seat, but I can say it looks to be the identical size, so I do believe it will fit. This is appears to be for use with a Tokyo fishing company's boxed set of multi-segment bamboo rods for use ... morein conventional and fly fishing. There are holes at each end of the handle. The hard rubber plug diameter is ~10.5mm, so that would indicate the approximate rod butt's size. There is normal signs of age and use, but no abuse. It is ~10-1/8" in length. Not counting plug. Allcocks Super Wizard Gold Label Shive Cork Handle Cane Rod - Rare
For your consideration this stunning and rare version of the Allcocks SuperWizard Gold Label rod with the longer shive cork handle. This is the most recent restoration from my workbench and has remained un-used since. All rings checked and a couple were replaced with new old stock as required and rewhipped in scarlet silk. There is no rust or other issues with these rings. And they all match. The Gold Oval label is I would say 99.9% as there was/is a tiny nick but this is hardly noticable(please see photo 7) This rod features the 21" shive cork handle on a whole tonkin cane butt section(this is as original, not modified) split cane middle and top sections, black rubber button with a green felt spacer, and a hook keeper. It is just over 11ft long when fully assembled and is fairly straight for this vintage. The aluminium handle fixtures ... morehave been leaded and laquered in the old fashion and the brass ferrules blackened accordingly. The whole thing has come up very nicely indeed and the varnish is like glass. Also, I have produced a new bag as original. This is a powerful version of the Wizard and would suit medium to heavy float or leger work with either a nice vintage centrepin or open-faced reel. RARE Vintage Zebco Centennial 4470 6' Casting Rod Cork Handle w Zebco 80L Reel
This rod and reel combo has been stored in the basement rafters for over 20 years. My wife's father had this in his multi rod collection. She chose one of his more colorful glass rods for herself. Rod in excellent condition. All guides and threads intact. Beautiful brown and greens make up the finishing touches to this medium action 6' glass rod. Reel is working well. Vintage Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod And Reel From Japan Cork Handle With Case
Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod from Japan with Reel 8' long when put together. The cork handle is in good condition with minimal gouges. The first rod section has one eyelet and the hook rest. The second middle section is missing two eyes. There are two tip sections. One has all three eyes and the ferrule intact. The second tip has all three eyes but the tip of the ferrule is broken. There is also a fourth section that can be used as a shorter rod and fits into the first section. This rod has a makers mark that is not complete. But has a gold base. Rod comes with cloth canvas case. All pieces are the same length. The all metal reel is also unmarked and in good working condition. Possible white bakelite handle. Comes with green fly line.
