Up for auction is a rod building dryer motor holder with rollers and thread finish kit. I bought the dryer motor on ebay a few years ago to fix a couple fishing rods and it works great. The motor is 15/18 r/min and plugs into the wall. The thread finish bottles I purchaed from Mudhole. The thread finish is a 1oz. bottle of Pro Kote part A resin and part B hardener with syringes and instructions and a 1oz. bottle of Cason's Crystal Clear Color Preserver. I only used about 1/8 of the resin and hardener so the bottles are almost full. I never used the color preserver so it is filled to the top. This is a great little kit! This is a stream king bamboo fly rod that was made in Japan. I am guessing the rod to be pretty old. Maybe prewar. The rod is 3pc and has 2 different end pieces. To be clear there are 4pcs total. The different ends change the weight of the rod or make it a spinning rod rather than fly rod(I am not really sure) The rod is still in its original box with the original accessories. There is no decal but I believe it is a Grampus Model. The kit includes 11 assorted hand tied flies. Silk gut leader material, snelled hooks and a unique bobber. The rod is in excellent condition and I do not believe it has ever been used. The rod can be assembled into a three piece 8’ fly rod or a two piece 5.6’ casting rod. All sections measure 33" I would estimate the fly line weight to be a three-four. The 6 1/4” cork handle and screw down lock reel seat are in great condition. There are two snake eye guides on the fly rod mid section and three on the fly rod tip section. The casting tip section has two guides. There is a stripper ... moreguide and hook keeper on the bottom section. The rod fits together perfectly when assembled and has the distinct“pop” sound when pulled apart. All of the sections are straight. The wooden storage box is also in great condition. The original honey colored cane and varnish finish are gorgeous. Here is a Johnson fly fishing rod and reel set. This includes a vinyl case. Rod, reel, extra spool, and 3 original paper items. The case is marked Johnson EXECUTIVE TRAVEL-PAC. The reel is marked Johnson Magnetic NO. 3. The rod is marked Johnson F3. The rod is 4 pieces. It appears to be fiberglass. It has a cork handle and green windings. The rod measures about 96" long overall. The vinyl case has a fleece lining. It has a zipper that wraps around three sides. The case measures about 26" by 8" This has a Johnson Magnetic fly reel model no. 3 sheet, Johnson Executive fly fishing pac pricing sheet, and Johnson Fisherman's handbook. The extra spool was designed to have a second line type available. Get this great, old set! This is used. It appears to have had very little use. The print on the outside of the case has some wear. ... moreIt is missing the TR in travel. There are a couple of paint and glue drops from being stored in a garage. The zipper has some corrosion, but works good. The case has some scuffs and light discoloring spots. The reel has some paint loss and wear to the outside edge. The white, plastic piece at the end of the cork has yellowed. The cork is in good shape. The rod is in good shape. There is very slight wear to a couple of the windings. The rod connections are very tight, as I don't believe it has been used much. The three papers have discoloring, wrinkles, bends and wear. This auction is for a post world war II vintage five piece split bamboo fly and casting rod with a wooden Olympic storage box. On the outside of the box is a sticker that says"Open. your Lucky Box" It was manufactured by Ueno Seiko Co. LTD Japan and has stickers stating"Made in occupied Japan" It can be used as a 8’ three piece fly rod(with extra tip) or a two piece 5 ½’ casting rod. All sections measure 32 ½” There are 2 very cool sliding doors that reveal compartments within the 34.5X3.5X2.5 inch storage box that contain original decals. 13 hand tied flies, 3 bobbers with bell, a leader holder and 3 snelled hooks. The rods, lures, flies and bobbers were made by ARAI, ASAKUSA. The six inch cork handle has an up lock screw reel seat are in great condition. On the end is a green rubber bumper that pulls out to ... morereveal an empty space inside the handle to store extra flies. There are two snake eye guides on the mid section. There on the fly rod tips and two on the casting tip. There is a stripper guide on the bottom section. The bottom section and casting tip are all in very good condition and fit together perfectly. The mid and tip sections have a tight fit although they do engage fully(see picture) It will not affect the casting or use of the rod. It is made for freshwater and salt water fishing. The bamboo cane and varnish finish look to be in their original condition and are gorgeous. The wooden storage case has some water stains and 1 latch is not working. All of the accessories are in good condition. The casting action on the fly rod is incredible! It has a classic wispy bamboo cane action. Wait until you try it. Complete 1953 Sakura 5 Piece Fly Fishing Rod Kit In Original Oak Case By Sukarai
NO BIDDING- NO WAITING Wow- what a find. This appears to be a Sukura Model 104 5 piece combination fly and casting rod set. This is an authentic Sukaria brand product from Tokyo. Japan. There is an 8' fly casting option; a 5' 3" bait casting option; and, a bamboo fly fishing rod combo with cork handle. The kit is contained in a fitted oak case. One end of the case has a price sticker showing the original date of 4-53 and the original price of $6.50 on it. There is also a Sukara decal between the two stickers. The top of the oak case has the label shown in the second photo. The first photo shows a loose label or decal that is rolled up inside the case. The 3rd photo shows all four broad sides of the oak case. The case opens to the fitted section holding the five rod sections. The top half has a tackle section holder with two sliding ... morecovers. Included as tackle are 3 bobbers, a line winder, a ribbon of lead weight, a tin of split shot weights, an(Anacin) tin with hooks, and 3 fly hooks. All connectors and eyelets are intact. This may have been sold in Japan as the rolled up label says good souvenir for foreigners. And in 1953 Japan was still occupied and only domestically sold products would not have to been required to have been marked as such. Vintage Royal Monarch Split Bamboo Fly Rod w/Kit, Japan With Flies Fishing Lures
For sale is a Royal Monarch Split Bamboo Fly Rod along with an assortment of flies and other tackle there is 24 old flies some hooks and bobbers and leader line. This is a used fly rod. It is in it's original wood box, the box does have some wear due to age and use it's still functional opens/closes there is a plastic cover over the tackle that slides out with some effort. This Fly Rod has 5 pieces the Handle. Mid-section and 3 different tips, I think it's an 8 ft rod. There is a small piece of rubber at the base of the handle. I think it may have dried out. Looks like is is going to fall off at some point. Other than that the rod seems to be in good condition. I have not put it together or used it. But I don't see any visual problems with doing so. Neat wood box– 4” x 3” x 39” Rescued from long. Deep storage in a Detroit area estate… this is genuine New-Old-Stock… it has never been used… the Nylon line was never put on the reel… some of the fly lures are a bit deteriorated from long storage… But there is no signs of use. No rust, no moisture damage… the varnish on the rod, handle and ... moretips is factory new… box shows soiling on the exterior but the interior is clean as a whistle(oh. Maybe a little dusty) A true time capsule… While there is no absolute way to date this… No reference to‘Occupied Japan’ but the graphics point to the very late 40’s or early 50’s… 122014 General Philosophy& Background: The items I am posting to ebay are largely items pulled from‘the basement’ or‘the garage’ interesting vintage/estate items that were too nice to trash or give to a rummage sale. This is a great collectible. It was given to the GI's in Japan during world war ll. it is used and is missing some pieces. Notably one missing piece is one of the 5 piece split bamboo rod pieces. Will piece together with remaining pieces. Some other small accessories are missing but not all. Has scissors. Some flies, extra line, wooden float. The cork handle has cracks. The wooden case is is not in the best condition. One hinge is broken and one latch is missing. This is a great collectible.
