ANTIQUE CIRCA 1900s SIX PIECE FISHING FLY ROD 2 TIPS 90" INCHES NR
For your consideration we are offering for auction this antique fly rod. 6 total piece with 2 tips. I do not see any signatures or markings on this Flyrod. It roughly measures 90 inches or about 7.5 feet. I purchased this at a Sanibel Island estate that dated back to 1910. This fly rod appears to be in good condition with no splitting of the bamboo. The handle has a cigar cork style design, which the cork is intact and not"crumbly" The aluminum portion of the handle is not split and appears to be in good condition. The handle section measures 18 7/8" inches. The female ferrule end is not cracked and accepts the male portion of the rod. The next section measures 18 7/8" with the male and female ferrule pieces in good condition with no cracking. There is one snake eyelet on this section. The next section measures 18 5/8" ... moreinches with both male and female ferrule ends in undamaged condition. There are no eyelets on this section. The 4th section measures 15 1/8" with both male and female ferrules in excellent condition, no cracking or damage. There is one snake eyelet on this section. The first tip section measures 18 7/8" and has a excellent condition male-end ferrule and this section has one snake eyelet and the then there is the tip eyelet. The second tip is in equally good condition as the first tip. This rod has the case accompanying it. This fly rod, I am sure would need to be restored if you wanted to use it or display it, but I believe this is a pretty nice antique rod that would make for an excellent addition to your collection. vintage bamboo fly fishing rod 3 pc. "Super Challenge" 2 tips
This old rod is a puzzle for me. First the name is untraceable with just"super challenge" or"super challenger" I have seen a Phillipson"Challenge" but it is not bamboo. Secondly the butt has the yellow piece at the end and I don't know if it is ebonite or plastic( The bamboo cane is in good shape and equal in length. There is one line guide missing but it is wired to the piece from which it came(left of second photo)The metal tip is missing on one of the two cane tip pieces. The agate is broken inside the line guide on the butt piece. There is a sleeve but no tube. Other than that. I am not sure what I have missed and believe it to be in quite nice shape for such an old rod.

Vintage Montague Split Cane Bamboo 3 Piece Fly Fishing Rod with 2 Tips
This is a vintage Montague Split Cane Bamboo fly fishing rod. I am not sure which exact model Montague it is because the decal is partially removed. The last 2 letters of the model is what is left. And those last 2 letters are.OM. This rod is a 3 piece rod, and there are 2 tips. All the original guides are attached and in place with original thread. The butt section measures 35 inches, the second section measures 34 1/2 inches, and one tip measures 33 1/4 inches and the second tip measures 34 1/2 inches. The reel seat is in good condition with hoods in place. The cork foregrip has vintage wear. The rod ferrules are in good condition and all pieces connect. The rod tips have slight bends at the very top section from storage(see photo) There is absolutely NO splits or cracks in the bamboo. All sections are solid. With three pieces measuring 37” each and the second tip measuring 27½” Total length 111” with longer tip; 101.5” with the shorter tip. The rod has“Heddon” written on it, plus“20– 9’ 2 ¾ F– G’B G or C” The hexagonal rod has a diameter of 3/8” at the widest part(1½“ circumference) before the metal handle. It weighs about 10 ounces. Vintage Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 4-Piece 2-tips Patented Jan 22 1907. This Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod was recently acquired at an estate sale. The rod has 4 pieces. Including 2 tips. The pieces each measure 34 5/8" 38" 33 5/8" and 30 1/4 respectively" On the handle of the rod is printed"PATENTED JAN 22 1907" There is no manufacturer's name, but the rod may be a"Montague" since a patent was issued to that company on that date. The rod is in very good condition- all the eyes are firmly in place. There are some signs of wear to the handle(see photos) I am not an expert in bamboo fly rods. Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod Two tips Cork Handle Pouch and Tube
4 Piece split bamboo fly rod. The piece that the handle is on measures 36 1/2" Middle piece measures 36" long. One of the two tips measure 35 1/2" the other measures 34" The rod has been"rebuilt by Herm" There is no other marking on the rod. The metal tips do have discoloration. The cork handle looks resurfaced. In good but used condition. Do not know the age of the rod. The pouch has a worn sticker sewn on the fabric but most of it is gone. see photos. The tube is fiberglass with the cap reading Bluestreak. The tube does have a long crack on fiberglass. One of the caps is missing. I acquired these set together but I do not know for sure if the tube and the pouch are the right match with the rod. Please ask questions. Sale is final. No returns.

Massachusetts, until they closed down operations in 1955. The company built everything from casting. Spinning, trolling and ocean rods to the many fly rod models. These rods were built and priced for the average fisherman of the era; they were not overly fancy or elegant but they were durable, which is why so many remain on the market. But most were fished hard; nice original examples in excellent condition are ... morebecoming scarce and hard to find. Overall condition is great considering age. No obvious splitting in bamboo, original tips and guides, very little spots of resign missing from all rods, Montague tag attached to rod is not compelte but readable, original label is attached to cork but unreadable. Reel is in working order with no makers brand on it but looks like it was a set. It appears to have never been used as you can see the paper wrapper is still on the cork handle. Wood case is pretty fragile(by fragile. I mean it's like a veneer wood and some of the top layers are coming up/loose) and one end is missing. There are two different ends for it. One making the pole 7' and the other making it 5' Please SEE ALL photos for best description. Comes with what I believe 11 flies. 6 hooks, something still in the wrapper and all it says is"Fishing Guts, Fishing Tackle" not sure what that is, see photo. Vintage Shakespeare 9' Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod 2 Tips A-1362-9
Up for auction is a vintage Shakespeare 9 foot bamboo fly fishing rod with 2 tips. This was my grandpa's rod. My dad remembers him using it to fish for salmon off the shores of Lake Michigan in the mid 50's. But it's possible that it's even older than that. It's been stored in it's original cloth bag since the 1970's or earlier, taken out only a few times for viewing. It's a lovely piece for display, but would need some restoration if it were to be used for fishing again. As you can see in the photos, there are 2 places where the string that holds the loop on is coming unwound. I try to describe all my items as accurately as possible and to provide quality photos. Vintage Montague Rapidan Split Cane Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod w/ 2 Tips & Tube MINT
This is a vintage Montague Rapidan split cane bamboo fly rod with 2 rod tips. This rod is in excellent condition and doesn't look like it was ever fished. The cork handle looks absolutely brand new. The reel seat very clean and shiny, the ferrules all slide into one another with ease and are nice and shiny, the split cane bamboo is in perfect condition and is clean and glossy, and all the guides are in place. The hook keeper is perfect also. The Montague label has a piece partially missing(see photo) Each section measures 36 1/2 inches, and the fly rod is 9' ft all put together. This rod comes with the rod tube and rod sock. The rod tube is missing the lid on one side. I have described this rod to the best of my ability. Please see all photos. Good Luck! Posted with
