I found that neither was perfectly straight, the SP-541 not seriously so, but the SP-681 more problematic(see photo of blank next to metal yardstick) The actual measured lengths are 56.5" for the FS-541 and 67.5" for the FS-681. I don't know what or if any fix is possible for the 681, but I am sure it's beyond my amateur rod-building capabilities. Both blanks will be shipped together USPS Prioity Mail in a section of PVC. For auction is an Orvis Helios 9' 0" 8-Weight 4-Piece(908-4pc) Fly Rod in excellent condition. The rod has been on only two saltwater fishing trips with 7 days on the water. There are some light scratches on the carbon fiber rod tube from travel and the rod has very light soiling on the grip. This is a powerful 8-weight saltwater fly rod. The action is quite fast. But also forgiving, and it is very light weight. I will accept Paypal as payment and will send anywhere in the lower 48 US states for $16. Item is being re-listed because I included erroneous information when cutting and pasting the manufacturer's description. For clarification, this is a tip-flex rod, including original sock and tube. Notable marks on the rod are: Model#8477(this is on the butt section of rod as well as the tip) and Patent# 2537488. This rod was made for"Zeb Stewart" and it is inscribed as such(see photo) It also appears to say"4" or"B4" on it by the name B4. Rod fits together a bit soft, but separates with a"pop" Blank is rather immaculate. All original wraps. Vintage "Champion" Bamboo Fly Rod- Vietnam Era - Made in Japan - Extra Tip
You are bidding on a handsome vintage bamboo fly rod. My local expert believes the rod is from the early to late 60s. He's seen lots of rods like this come to the US in the duffle of servicemen coming home from Vietnam or Korea at about that time period. Air Force personnel in particular were stationed in Japan and would purchase these wonderful fly rods and bring them home. Three sections just under 36" My guess is that this rod is a bit under 108 inches, perhaps 105 or so. I am not willing to assemble the rod given the condition of the ferrules. Earlier rods would have ferrules that had the same flats as the rod. This example needs just a little restoration to get back into the hunt for your favorite fish. All the hardware is there. No water stains or splinters. Very clean and straight. I replaced the reel seat with a new uplocking chrome plated Aluminum reel seat with exotic rosewood insert. VTG 1900 H L LEONARD BAMBOO FLY ROD 8' 3/2 BELL GUIDES MINT ORIG TIP TUBE&SOCKS
Offering a very rare vintage(1900) H. L. Leonard 8' 3/2 bamboo fly rod in Mint Condition. It has bell guides. Early waterproof ferrules stamped with patent dates(PAT.SEP. 3 1872& PAT. OCT. 26. 1875) on the butt female ferrule. Also with nice ferrule plugs. The stripping guide and both tips have the nice clear agate insert. Traditional red Chinese silk guide and intermediate wraps are just perfect. Cork has slight reel impressions but nearly flawless with 5/16" ring configuration. Reel seat most likely very early Chubb with very high NiS content of the era. Could not find one exactly like it in Rod Crafting by Jeffrey L. Hutton but assume a Chubb as Leonard used them often. Each section crafted exactly at 32 5/8. One tip with barely noticeable set from last bell guide to tip. It comes with the original H. L. Leonard brass capped ... moretip tube and original tip sock. Also with original sock for the entire rod as it still has the hanging tag string with round brass ring but tag long gone. Rod comes in a nice newer tube as seen in photos for protection. Ferrule fits are nice as expected with a quality Leonard rod. All the hardware is exceptionally clean. Shiny and well preserved especially given its age. The reel seat, band, bell guides and ferrules are totally clean, shiny with no oxidation, swirling or scratching to the surfaces. For not having a hook keeper the cork is actually quite exceptional with that being the only flaw in the rod I can find with 5-6 hook impressions with very small hook spots. One hook spot has maybe a 1/8" rectangular by 1/16" deep divot from a hook. This rod is quite an exceptional piece and should interest serious collectors. Personally. I would never fish it as I am such a Bozo I would probably break it! Not much else to say as the rod and Leonard quality speaks for itself. For its age and being a high quality, early Leonard it should probably be in a fishing museum, on display at Cabellas, or something- your home or office? If anyone has info in this regard, please let

Here for sale is a vintage split bamboo 8 ft 6 inch fly rod. There are 4 pcs. to this rod. 3 pieces plus and extra tip. All of the sections measure 35" inches each. The overall condition is great, but the one section of the first rod with the cork handle has loose threading around the eye. This fly rod is all original, but has no marking and may be a Granger or Montague. The metal on this rod is still shinny without any rust or corrosion and the cork handle is superb condition. There are no major repairs or damage to this pole and it only has usage wear and is in good functional state. The first section of the handle has one eye, the second section of the pole has two eyes with the third section having three eyes. The pole is a three section unit that includes an extra tip. The vintage fly rod has the cloth wrap, but does not include ... morethe cylinder/ metal holder. The varnish is in good condition with some minor color fading to some parts of the threading. It was used only once or twice and presents in MINT CONDITION with no structural issues and only a couple of spots on the cork handle that show any wear from the reel. VINTAGE ALLCOCKS "DAINTY BOY" BAMBOO FLY ROD-3/1-SLANT GUIDES-AGATE TIP & STRIP
This is a Vintage Allcock's"Dainty Boy" bamboo fly rod. The hardware seems to be nickel silver and the reelseat is part of the cork grip that measures 9.75 inches. I has a sliding band for the reel and the stripper guide and tip top are agates. The guides are the early slant guides and narrow for the silk lines. All the guides and hardware are present and in good shape. There are some windings missing on a ferrule and some intermediates. The rod is a 3 piece 1 tip and measures 8.5 feet. The mid is short by 2 inches and the tip is short by 5 inches. I think the rod was to be 9 feet. There is no sock or tube for the rod but I do pack well for shipping.
