THE POLE HAS MINOR SCRAPING ETC HERE AND THERE FROM USE. THE CORK IS SHOWING SOME AGE. THE METAL PIECES ARE SHOWING SOME OXIDATION. ONE OF THE CONNECTORS HAS A CRACK IN IT BUT SHOULDN'T EFFECT USE. Vintage bamboo fly rod made in Utica NY location of both Devine Rod Co. and Horrachs Ibbotson Co. I do not know who made this rod but it seems to be a fairly nice rod- the two tips are in very good condition showing very little use if used at all and come with tip tube and tip sock- the butt section has the stripping guide taped on and missing guide on middle section- I don't see any splits or delamination but the two bottom sections need a little work to get them ready to fish such as cleaning.Guide and finish coating. The label is almost gone all I can make out is Utica,the down screwing reel lock has REEL TITE UTICA stamped on it- the second t in TITE might be a different letter but think it says TITE. Vintage Adirondack Split Bamboo 9' Fly Rod W/Xtra Tip VNice Condition
This nice vintage 9' split bamboo rod is by an original"Adirondack" made by Horrocks- Ibbotson. Utica, New York. The condition is very nice with no loose eyes or connectors.no loose threads.it has an extra tip section as shown in the photos which matches the other tip section except slightly different eyes. Overall, very nice with light wear.it looks like it may have been re-coated with light varnish many years ago, there are a couple of small glitches in the varnish where it touched something(look at foto 9) which are negligible. The bamboo rod is wrapped tightly every 1 1/2" I can find no cracks or splits anywhere in the bamboo. When the 3 pieces are connected it has great whip motion.very smooth. vintage hardy triumph fly rod 3 piece 8ft 9inch with spare tip
here is a fantastic scarce hardy triumph fly rod 3 piece with 2 tips. the rod has had the eyes re whipped and a varnish using all original parts and looks superb as you can see in pics. i havent cleaned the cork as it has a nice patina but would come up like new if you give it a clean. this is a wonderful straight example with crimson whippings 2 stoppers not original? and hook keeper. this is a very very rare rod as its a 3 piece with both spare tips and very rarely seen for sale. it reads on handle e33322 made by hardy bothers alnwick england Check out my!

You're looking at a nice vintage fly rod measuring just over 8 feet long when fully assembled. It's a 3 piece rod. But there is an extra tip for a total of 4 pieces. It comes in a carrier that is molded to fit each piece exactly. The case was originally lined with felt, but a lot of it has worn off over time. Each piece of the rod has a metal cap that has to be removed to insert the next piece for assembly. The rod has no identifying marks on it whatsoever. J. L. John) Weir& Son varnished 2-piece. 2-tip, 8' for a 5/6 weight bamboo fly rod from the late sixties/early seventies in excellent condition. Labeled M801.22.8. J. L. Weir& Son were a small Western rodmaker located in Los Gatos CA. Their output was small and seldom do these rods find their way to market. Typical of Western fly rods of the day designed to fish larger waters, this rod has a'crisper' action than similar rods from some of the prominent Eastern makers like C. F. Charles) Orvis, H. L. Hiram) Leonard, James(Jim) Payne, Everett Garrison and others. 9 snake guides with an agate'stripper' J. L. Weir& Son rods had a couple of unique and distinctive features; Wood reel seat filler finished in oil rather than varnish. This made it very easy to'freshen' as needed without refinishing the entire ... morereel seat. The Sterling silver hook-keeper is actually embedded in the front of the cork grip. This spares the windings and bamboo from any damage and also provides a'resting' place for your dry fly without crushing the hackles against the bamboo as with more traditional hook-keepers. The rod bag is heavy denim to protect this fine rod. A gorgeous rod with very light wheat colored shafts, brown silk guide wraps tipped black at grip, ferrules, tips(1 tip has two wraps of black and the other only 1, this allows differentiating so tips can be switched from time-to-time) The varnish is perfect. The ferrules are nickel silver. I believe the butt cap, reel seat hardware and grip-check are aluminum. The butt-cap is labeled WEIR& SON. This is a Vintage Art Kade of Shebygan. Wisconsin"Sprite" Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a 2 piece 2 tip model with a length of 7.5 feet. The only issue with this rod is the original reelseat was made of hard rubber and it desinegrated. I have replace with the same style that the original one was. I have not glued it in place in case you want to use a different style. I will set it if you want this one. The rest of the rod is in mint condition and not many of these around. The varnish is very smooth and the cane is a darker honey color. There is nothing missing or broken and all original except the reelseat. Each of the three pieces is marked with the serial number 3000, a nice touch. Butt section is marked"Orvis Impregnated Deluxe. Label on tube is marked"6 1/2' 2 pc, 11. I don't know what the 11 stands for. It is also marked"Style Deluxe, 2 Pc, Weight 3 Oz, with serial number 3000. When you sight down one of the tips it appears to bend very slightly to the right- not much at all. The other tip appears to be straight. Rod seems to me to have been well cared for and quite clean. Inspect my photos and judge condition yourself. The HDG designation indicates that rod was designed for a weight forward number 6 line. However, is you search completed items on eBay you will find another example of this rod ... morewhere the seller says a number 4 or 5 line would be more appropriate. I have no opinion. I recently acquired this rod from the family of the man who owned it. He passed away and forgot to take it with him to that big cold river in the sky. Check out my! Comes with(I believe original) green felt sleeve pouch and aluminum carrying tube. I cannot find any markings on the base piece. Felt pouch or tube so I am not 100% sure who the manufacturer is but was represented to me as a Shakespeare rod. Condition: Very good cosmetic condition with only very light wear and no cracks. Splits, etc that I can find and all pieces fit together nice and snugly. Bamboo Fly Rod -- 2-3 wt -- Broken tip -- POPS when separated
My favorite small stream rod(reel is not included in the auction- I paired the rod with a Vernley Trout Reel) My father broke the tip and I have had it sitting around. All it needs is a tip attached- broke right at the guide below the tip top- It was a 6 foot 2/3 wt- It would probably throw a 3 wt a little better than a 2- but I'll let you decide on how to line it-I used 2wt Silk Fly line with it Comes as is. Original RL Winston 3 piece IM6 8'6" 7 WT fly rod. I'm the original owner of the rod and it is in excellent condition. Rod has been used only a couple of times and mostly been stored in it's original Winston sock and metal case. Really nice casting rod working streamers from drift boat. Or when windy conditions call for a 7 wt. You can feel this rod flex when casting and it does not tire you out. A beautiful rod with wells grip. Nickle silver reel seat and wood insert, and it also comes with two matched numbered top sections. You will not find a finer used rod. I have many high end rods I'll be listing from Winston. Scott, Sage, Thomas and Thomas. All are in excellent condition.

This has been an outstanding rod for me and has been my go to smallmouth rod to the last couple of years. It is in great condition and was well cared for. There are no scratches.
