VINTAGE STYLE CUSTOM BUILT SPLIT BAMBOO FLY ROD AND REEL!!!
This one is killing me to let go. I built it for myself several years ago but I only used it a couple of time due to illness. It is 6' and casts a 4wt. with ease. The action is medium light action. I went all out on this one. I added full intermediate wraps for a classic look. The stripper guide is German silver and agate as well as the hardware on the burl wood seat. The reel is made by ZYZ. It is super clean and I prefer them over Bill Ballin reels for the money! It is about perfect. I only used it a few times. The action is butter smooth. When build my own rods I add all the bells and whistles. It is meant to catch the eye of other anglers. My opening bid is less than the cost of the reel alone. You cant go wrong with this one! A 4" Wide Drum Fly Reel by Dingley for Army & Navy Co-operative Society
This is a superb Dingley made(D1) 4" Perfect style Reel marked for Army& Navy Co-operative Society Ltd( ANCSL) Overall width of the reel is 1.8" and spool width is 1.2" The spool retaining screw is reverse threaded to unscrew clockwise. And tension adjuster is strapped over. The brass foot is original length at 3.3" The reel retains most of its original leaded finish and is in excellent mechanical condition. The spool is tight and free from wobble and the check works and sounds great. Only'defect' is some line burn on the rim as shown in photo 5. It looks worse in the photo than in reality. The reel was in use earlier this season and has a recent sink tip line fitted. No idea what weight it is. ANCSL became Army& Navy Stores in 1934 so I assume this reel predates that name change. This auction is for a Vintage 70's Hardy Bros 8-9wt Marquis Fly Reel. This is a beautiful reel measuring in at 3 3/4" in diameter. The action is great and the spool spins well. I am not sure what kind of line comes wrapped on the spool. But I'm willing to bet it's good stuff. The housing is in great shape with no scrapes or dings. NEW in Box Patagonia Riverwalker Wading Boots- Size 13 STITCHED felt soles; MSRP $149.00 In my humble opinion. The Patagonia Riverwalkers are the finest wading boots on the market today- it is all about comfort and these HAVE IT! Here are a pair of simple straight-on traditional felt(stictched on and not glued) Riverwalker boots are light to begin with, but in the felt version their light weight is astounding. Each boot weighs on my postal scale a mere 1.7 pounds- compare that to your Korkers and Simms, or your old leather Hodgman's! Seriously, 1.7 lbs per boot for a size 13- really? Yes, really. And, step out of the water and they drain. QUICK! And so. Often, when buying wading boots you want to size up one to accomodate neoprene booties. That is precisely what I would recommend with these. While these boots are a size 13, I would recommend ... morethem for a guy with a street shoe size of 12 or 12.5 for layering flexibility. That said, if you wear a street shoe 13 you should be good with these, as well, if only using during the summer, if your waders or hippers have no excess neoprene bootie or you never intend to layer socks underneath. These boots are true to width and fit my more-than-average wide-fitting feet fine; however, I am a not a super-wide. just a hair wider than average, perhaps, in the fore-foot, below the toes. Another piece of helpful/important advice. My feet are precisely 11 1/8" from heel to top of big toe measuring from the bottom of the foot. My neoprene booties are just under 12" from heel to toe measuring on the bottoms. Size 13 is the size Riverwalker I wear(I wear a size 12 running shoe) This size(13) gives me some wiggle room for layering during the winter months. Some guys like no summer wiggle room and want a tight-fitting boot- not me. Please measure your feet before bidding and buy according to your preference. And.
